ArchiveDiabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is a common and serious complication of diabetes. Its pathogenesis involves neuropathy, angiopathy, and infection, making clinical prevention and treatment challenging and resulting in a high recurrence rate. Based on the theory of "impeded blood flow and putrefaction of flesh due to intense heat" from Liu Juanzi's Surgical Formulas, this paper explores the mechanistic effects and clinical value of acupuncture and moxibustion in treating DFU. Studies have shown that acupuncture and moxibustion significantly accelerate ulcer healing by promoting blood circulation, regulating immune responses, and improving local oxygen supply. Among these techniques, fire needling and moxibustion demonstrate prominent advantages in draining pus, improving micro-circulation, and controlling infection. Modern research confirms that acupuncture and moxibustion can modulate the high-glucose micro-environment, enhance local blood flow, and promote nerve function and wound repair. By integrating traditional acupuncture and moxibustion with modern medicine, this study provides a theoretical basis and practical reference for the clinical treatment of DFU, particularly in early intervention.
To study the inhibitory effect of Fuzheng Xiao'ai Formula I on colorectal cancer tumors in nude mice from the perspective of intestinal flora.
The CRC nude mouse model was constructed and 20 successfully modeled nude mice were randomLy divided into the model control group and low dose (17.47 g/kg), medium dose (34.94 g/kg), and high dose (69.89 g/kg) groups of Fuzheng Xiao'ai Formula I, with 5 mice in each group. The model control group was gavaged with normal saline, and each dose of Fuzheng Xiao'ai Formula I was gavaged with the corresponding concentration of decoction. After 2 consecutive weeks of intervention, the nude mice were sacrificed, the tumor bodies were completely dissected, and some tumor tissues were taken for HE staining. Based on the tumor weight, volume and pathological results, the medium dose group with better efficacy was screened out. Meanwhile, the cecal contents of this group and the model control group were collected for metagenomic sequencing analysis.
The tumor weight and volume of nude mice in each dose group of Fuzheng Xiao'ai Formula I decreased. HE staining showed that the density of tumor cells in the low, medium, and high dose groups of Fuzheng Xiao'ai Formula I decreased, accompanied by different degrees of necrosis. Metagenomic sequencing showed that compared with the model control group, the abundances of Parabacteroides, Bifidobacterium, Faecalibacterium, Clostridium auriscati, and Faecalibaculum rodentium in the medium dose group significantly increased (P < 0.05), and the abundances of Proteus, Citrobacter, Morganella, Enterobacter, Morganella morganii, and Enterobacter hormaechei significantly decreased (P < 0.05). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis found that the starch and sucrose metabolism pathway was significantly different between the two groups (P < 0.05), among which α-glucosidase, UTP-glucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase, phosphoglucomutase, and maltose α-D-glucosyltransferase were significantly downregulated in this pathway (P <0. 05).
Fuzheng Xiao'ai Formula I repairs the intestinal barrier and maintains the homeostasis of the intestinal environment by increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria and reducing the abundance of harmful bacteria. Down-regulating α-glucosidase in the starch and sucrose metabolism pathway may be a potential way for it to exert anti-colorectal cancer effects.
To observe the protective effect of Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction on cartilage damage in knee osteoarthritis (KOA) rats with kidney deficiency and blood stasis type, and to explore its molecular mechanism.
Seventy female SD rats were divided into 7 groups by a random digital table, with 10 in each. Except the normal group, the others were established kidney deficiency and blood stasis type KOA models. Each 1 rat was selected from the model group and the normal group, which were euthanized to verify successful modeling. Among the others, the positive drug group was given a dose of 5.4 mg/kg of etoposide by gavage. The low, medium, and high dose groups of Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction were given Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction 2.1, 4.2, and 8.4 g/kg by gavage respectively. SB203580 group was orally administered with SB203580 3.0 mg/kg. The model group was given 1 mL/100 g of physiological saline by gavage. The other 10 female SD rats were given an equal volume of physiological saline by gavage (normal group). All lasted for 30 days. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used for detecting tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF)-α, interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels in joint fluid. Hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological changes of cartilage tissues, and the Mankin scores were compared. Real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to detect p38 mitogen activated protein kinase (p38MAPK) and nuclear transcription factors in various groups of cartilage tissues-κB p65 (NF-κB p65), nucleotide binding oligomerization domain like receptor 3 (NLRP3), and aspartate proteolytic enzyme 3 (Caspase3) gene expressions. Western blotting (WB) was used for detecting p38MAPK and NF-κB p65, NLRP3, Caspase3 protein expressions and p-p38MAPK levels in cartilage tissues.
KOA models of kidney deficiency and blood stasis type were successfully established. The TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 levels of joint fluid, Mankin score, p38MAPK gene, NF-κB p65, NLRP3, Caspase3 expressions and p-p38MAPK in knee cartilage tissues in the model group were all higher than those in the normal group (P <0.01), of which the treatment groups were all lower than the model group (P <0.01), and except for Caspase3 expressions the indexes in the high-dose group of Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction were lower than the SB203580 group (P <0.01), and the effect of Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction was dose-dependent. The cartilage tissue of the model group rats showed severe pathological changes, and the treatment groups all showed relief, and the effects of the low-dose and positive drug groups of Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction, the medium dose group of Bushen Zhuangjin Dectoction and SB203580 group were basically equivalent.
Bushen Zhuangjin Decoction can alleviate the inflammatory response of cartilage tissue in KOA rats with kidney deficiency and blood stasis type, and it is speculated to inhibit p38MAPK/NF-κB pathway achieves this effect.
To investigate the mechanism of rhubarb by activating the PINK1/Parkin pathway to regulate mitophagy and intervene in inflammasome activation to inhibit systemic inflammatory response and protect intestinal structure in sepsis mice.
A total of 40 6-8-week-old C57BL/6J male mice were randomly divided into high-dose rhubarb group, medium-dose rhubarb group, low-dose rhubarb group, sepsis model group and blank group. The high-dose rhubarb group, the medium-dose group, the low-dose group, and the sepsis model group were all modeled by cecal ligation and perforation to establish a mouse model of sepsis, After successful modeling, each dose group of rhubarb was given 0.52 mL/day of rhubarb liquid by gavage every day for 7 days, and on the 8th day, the eyeball blood of mice in each group was collected after successful modeling, serum was prepared, and intestinal tissue was retained; HE staining was used to observe the histopathological changes of intestinal tissue, and the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 in serum were detected by ELISA, Western blot was used to detect the expression levels of NLRP3, PINK1, Parkin, LC3I, LC3II in ileal tissues of mice in each group.
HE staining showed that the intestinal mucosal epithelial cell injury was the most serious in the sepsis model group, with multiple ulcers formed, obvious intestinal villi with a large amount of necrosis and large sloughing, accompanied by mucosal bleeding and edema, inflammatory cell infiltration reached the muscularis mucosa, goblet cells were significantly reduced, paneth cells were significantly increased, and inflammatory cells infiltrated into the muscularis mucosa; Compared with the model group, the intestinal mucosal epithelial cell damage, microvilli destruction and inflammatory cell infiltration in the rhubarb group were improved, and the number of goblet cells increased, while the number of paneth cells decreased, and the inflammatory cell infiltration was basically limited to the lamina propria. The serum TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 level in the sepsis model group was significantly increased(P < 0.01), and the serum TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 level in the rhubarb group decreased after treatment(P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The expression levels of NLRP3, PINK1, Parkin, LC3I, LC3II were significantly increased in the intestinal tissues of mice in the sepsis model group(P < 0.01). After treatment, the level of NLRP3 in each dose group of rhubarb decreased(P < 0.01), which was negatively correlated with the dose, and the expression level of PINK1, Parkin, LC3I, LC3II increased to varying degrees(P < 0.05, P <0.01), which was positively correlated with the dose.
By inhibiting the activation of intestinal NLRP3 inflammasomes, rhubarb activates the PINK1/Parkin pathway and increases the degree of mitophagy, thereby reducing the production of systemic inflammatory factors and protecting the intestinal structure.
To establish an HPLC fingerprint of Viola yedoensis using HPLC technology, evaluate the quality of 10 batches of Viola yedoensis combined with cluster analysis (HCA) and principal component analysis (PCA), and study its anti-inflammatory mechanism.
A Waters Symmetry C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) was used with a mobile phase of acetonitrile -0.1% phosphoric acid aqueous solution; flow rate: 0.8 mL·min-1; injection volume: 10 μL; column temperature: 30 ℃; detection wavelength: 353 nm. The anti-inflammatory effect was observed using the ear swelling method, and the levels of PGE2, IL -6, and TNF-α in serum were detected.
The HPLC fingerprint of 10 batches of Viola yedoensis was successfully established, with 10 common peaks identified. The similarities were all higher than 0.990. Two common peaks were identified as cichoriin (2.44 ± 1.11) mg·g-1 and esculetin (10.50 ± 1.57) mg·g-1. The 10 batches of samples were classified into two categories by chemical pattern recognition methods. The aqueous decoction of Viola yedoensis could inhibit ear swelling in mice and reduce the levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and PGE2 in serum.
This study successfully established the HPLC fingerprint of 10 batches of Viola yedoensis and found that its anti-inflammatory mechanism may be related to the inhibition of TNF-α, IL-6, and PGE2 expression, providing a scientific basis and pharmacodynamic support for the quality control and clinical application of Viola yedoensis.
To evaluate the effect of gypenosides (Gyps) on CYP3A2 enzyme activity in normal and hyperlipidemia rats by probe drug method.
The experimental animals were divided into normal rats control group, normal rats Gyps group, hyperlipidemia rats control group, and hyperlipidemia rats Gyps group. The animals in control and Gyps groups were given blank solvent and Gyps for 7 days respectively. On the 8th day, the rats in each groups were given the probe drug (aminopterin). The effect of Gyps on CYP3A2 activity in normal and hyperlipidemic rats was analyzed by detecting blood concentration of probe drug using HPLC method and calculating pharmacokinetic parameters.
Compared with normal rats control group and hyperlipidemia rats control group, AUC, Cmax of dapsone increased, t1/2 was significantly prolonged, and CLz/F significantly decreased both in normal rats Gyps group and hyperlipidemia rats Gyps group (P <0.01). Compared with normal rats control group, AUC of dapsone in hyperlipidemia rats control group significantly increased and the CLz/F significantly decreased (P <0.01). After administration of Gyps, compared with normal rats Gyps group, the increase of AUC and decrease of CLz/F of dapsone in hyperlipidemia rats Gyps group were more significant (P <0.01).
The activity of CYP3A2 enzyme in rats can be inhibited by Gyps. The results suggest that the dosage of drug should be adjusted to avoid the potential risk of herb-drug interactions when Gyps is combined with drugs metabolized by CYP3A4, especially in hyperlipidemia.
To explore the efficacy and influencing factors of intraorbital electroacupuncture in the treatment of diabetic oculomotor nerve palsy.
The clinical data of patients with diabetic oculomotor nerve palsy who received intraorbital electroacupuncture therapy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from January 2020 to November 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. Demographic characteristics, ocular motor nerve palsy score, glycosylated hemoglobin, course of oculomotor nerve palsy, course of diabetes, number of treatments, and maximum deflection angle of diplopia in horizontal and vertical directions were extracted from the electronic medical record system. The T test/Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the difference between the cured group and the non-cured group, and the binary logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of the curative effect.
Of the 167 patients, 67 were cured, 96 were effective, and 4 were ineffective. The overall cure rate was 40.1%, and the total effective rate was 97.6%. The symptoms of diplopia were alleviated after treatment. There was a statistically significant difference in the median value of the maximum horizontal (α) and maximum vertical (β) diplopia angle before and after treatment (P <0.001). After treatment, the maximum value of α in 67 cured patients was 6°, and the minimum value was 0°, with a confidence interval of 1.289-2.598. The maximum value of β is 5°, the minimum value is 0°, and the confidence interval is 1.113 ~ 2.462. Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in ocular motor nerve palsy score, glycosylated hemoglobin, treatment times and treatment days between the cured group and the non-cured group (P < 0.05). Regression analysis showed that the number of treatments was an effective protective factor for acupuncture (β =0.050, P < 0.001). Glycosylated hemoglobin was a risk factor (β =-0.248, P = 0.026).
Intraorbital electroacupuncture can effectively improve the symptoms of ptosis, diplopia and eye movement disorder in patients with diabetic oculomotor nerve palsy. The curative effect is positively correlated with the mild degree of oculomotor nerve palsy, stable blood glucose control and sufficient course of treatment.
Professor Wang Kuanyu is an academic inheritor of the Longjiang Medical School and a renowned provincial traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. He possesses unique insights into the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer with the assistance of traditional Chinese medicine. This article systematically summarizes Professor Wang's academic thoughts and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer based on the theory of "strengthening the body's resistance and eliminating pathogenic factors". The core pathogenesis of breast cancer lies in "deficiency of body resistance and excess of pathogenic factors". The deficiency of body resistance is the fundamental cause of the disease, while the accumulation of pathogenic factors such as blood stasis, phlegm, and toxins is the superficial manifestation. Professor Wang advocates using "strengthening the body's resistance and eliminating pathogenic factors" as the general principle of treatment, proposes a staged treatment strategy for breast cancer, emphasizes the need for dynamic adjustment of the emphasis on "strengthening the body's resistance" and "eliminating pathogenic factors" during different stages of treatment, and advocates for the integration of traditional Chinese medicine into the modern comprehensive treatment system for breast cancer. This approach fully leverages the unique value of traditional Chinese medicine in reducing toxicity, enhancing efficacy, and prolonging survival, providing a systematic new approach and practical experience for the integrated diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer with traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
Sjögren's syndrome, an autoimmune disease characterized by its long course and complex condition, significantly impacts patients' quality of life. It falls under the category of "dryness arthralgia" in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The disease is primarily caused by external or internal dryness damaging qi, blood, and body fluids, leading to the consumption of yin fluids and deficiency of qi and blood. Its onset and progression are fundamentally rooted in the absolute or relative depletion of yin fluids, with pathological changes involving multiple zang-fu organs. This article summarizes the clinical experience of professor Li Zeguang, a renowed TCM practitioner in Heilongjiang Province, in diagnosing and treating this condition based on the method of transforming yin with sour and sweet medicinals, and includes a clinical case for reference to provide insights in managing this disease.
To provide theoretical basis for basic research and clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine by analyzing the origins and characteristics of the compatibility of the Draconis Os and Ostreae Concha couplet medicinals.
Formulae involving the Draconis Os and Ostreae Concha couplet medicinals were collected and organized from the Chinese Medical Classics. Based on the theory of couplet medicinals compatibility, this study examines and verifies the origin of the Draconis Os and Ostreae Concha couplet medicinals from the perspective of historical application and compatibility mechanisms, and summarizes the usage characteristics including primary indications, dosage ratios, and preparation methods.
A total of 382 formulae containing the Draconis Os and Ostreae Concha couplet medicinals were identified, with applications in the treatment of mental disorders beginning from the Han Dynasty. Numerous classical texts record that this couplet medicinals is commonly used in equal ratios and the preparation methods often include, but are not limited to, fire processing. Historically and in modern clinical practice, this couplet medicinals is widely used across various fields including internal medicine, gynecology, and andrology. Modern research focuses on analyzing the effective components for calming the mind and their clinical therapeutic effects.
The Draconis Os and Ostreae Concha couplet medicinals has a broad clinical application potential, with a long history and rich experience in treating mental disorders. This research can provide valuable insights for modern clinical treatment and basic research in TCM.
Based on the Principles of Key Information Textual Research on Ancient Classic Formulas, this study employs bibliometric methods to systematically organize and verify key information regarding the historical origin, composition, origin and processing, dosage and decoction methods, as well as efficacy and indications of Shensu Yin. The research concludes that Shensu Yin originated from the Taiping Huimin Hejiju Fang of the Song Dynasty, with a consistent name throughout history and a clear lineage. In later generations, the formula was often modified based on syndrome differentiation. It is primarily indicated for external contraction due to qi deficiency accompanied by phlegm stagnation. The origins of all medicinal ingredients in the formula are consistent with the 2020 Edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China. Except for Jiang Banxia (processed Pinellia), Fu Chao Zhiqiao (stir-fried with bran Fructus Aurantii), Bai Chen Pi (Citrus reticulata with the white part removed), and Zhi Gancao (honey-fried Glycyrrhiza), the other herbs are used in their raw form. Based on the measurement standards of the Song Dynasty and modern dosage conversion, the formula consists of Perilla Leaf, Gegen (Pueraria lobata), Banxia (Pinellia), Qianhu (Peucedanum), Renshen (Ginseng), and Fuling (Poria) at 30.96 g each, and Muxiang (Aucklandia), Zhiqiao (Fructus Aurantii), Jiegeng (Platycodon), Gancao (Glycyrrhiza), and Chenpi (Citrus reticulata) at 20.65 g each. These ingredients are ground into powder. Each serving consists of 16.52 g of the powder, decocted with 450 ml of water, seven slices of ginger, and one jujube, boiled down to 270 ml, after which the residues are filtered out. Shensu Yin is indicated for replenishing qi and releasing the exterior, regulating qi and resolving phlegm. It is mainly used for external contraction due to qi deficiency with internal obstruction of phlegm dampness. In ancient times, it was commonly used for body weakness complicated by colds and phlegm-cough syndrome. In modern clinical practice, it is frequently used for respiratory diseases, pediatric disorders, and gynecological conditions characterized by qi deficiency with external contraction. Through a systematic review of relevant ancient texts and an examination of key information regarding Shensu Yin, this study aims to provide reliable documentary support for its modern development and clinical application.
To observe the clinical efficacy of Liu's Zhenggu DanⅠ orally combined with Xiaozhong ointment externally on simple rib fractures.
Ninety patients with simple rib fractures admitted to Wuxi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2024 to January 2025 were randomly divided into two groups at a 1∶ 1 ratio:the experimental group (treated with Liu's Zhenggu DanⅠ orally and Xiaozhong ointment externally) and the conservative treatment group (treated with Western medicine), with 45 patients in each group. On the 7th and 14th day after treatment, VAS scores and serum inflammatory factor levels at the fracture site were observed, and the formation of rib fracture callus was observed one month after treatment to evaluate the treatment effect.
On the 7th and 14th day after treatment, VAS scores and levels of IL -1β, IL -6, and TNF-αin the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). In addition, the experimental group showed significant advantages in both rib fracture healing rate and clinical efficacy improvement rate. (P < 0.05).
The combination of oral administration of Liu's Zhenggu DanⅠ and external application of Xiaozhong ointment can alleviate patient pain, inhibit systemic inflammatory response, shorten the healing time of simple rib fractures, and have significant clinical efficacy. It can provide a new option for the treatment of simple rib fractures, enrich clinical treatment methods, and provide value for the modern clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine bone injury therapy.
To explore the clinical observation and effect of abdominal acupuncture therapy combined with Yangming meridian puncture in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and nerve reflexes.
Selected 126 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xingtai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, from August 2022 to June 2024, grouped by the random number table method, 63 patients in the control group were treated with conventional medication + Yangming meridian rows of puncture therapy, and 63 patients in the experimental group were applied with abdominal acupuncture on the basis of the treatment in the control group, comparing the clinical effects of the two groups, evaluating the degree of symptomatic relief of the patients, the examination of the nerve conduction velocity determination, and the nerve reflexes. and nerve reflexes.
In this study, 1 case of 63 patients in the experimental group was excluded, 2 cases were shed, and 60 cases were finally included; 1 case of 63 patients in the control group was excluded, 1 case was shed, and 61 cases were finally included. The total effect rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05) ; there was no significant difference in the comparison of symptom scores, gastric emptying and BRU measurements, VPT and NCV of the lower limbs between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05), and the symptom scores (limb numbness, pain, etc.) and the values of T1/2, BRU, and VPT were lower than those of the control group after the treatment of the experimental group(P <0.01), and the values of the peroneal nerve and the peroneal nerve's MNCV and SNCV were significantly higher than those of the control group (P > 0.05). The MNCV and SNCV values of peroneal nerve and common peroneal nerve were significantly higher than those of the control group (P <0.01) ; there was no significant difference in the scores of nerve reflexes before treatment between the two groups (P > 0.05) ; MDNS, NSS and MNSI scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group (P < 0.01).
The abdominal acupuncture therapy combined with the Yangming meridian puncture programme can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, improve their gastric emptying function and bladder function, and enhance the nerve conduction velocity of the lower limbs of the patients, and reasonably optimize their nerve reflexes.
To observe the clinical efficacy of Huanglian Wendan Decoction in the treatment of pediatric multiple tic disorder (phlegm-heat-driven wind evidence).
The selected research subjects were 112 children with TS who were diagnosed and treated in Nantong Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2024 to October 2024, and were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group with 56 cases each. During the treatment period, the children were instructed to have a regular schedule, eat properly, maintain a good emotional state, and avoid adverse stimuli. All children were given ear acupoint pressure bean therapy. On this basis, the control group was given oral tiapride tablets, while the observation group was given Huanglian Wendan Decoction in water. All children were treated continuously for 8 weeks. The condition improvement, TCM syndrome scores and serum dopamine (DA), Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), norepinephrine (NE) levels before treatment, 2 weeks of treatment and 8 weeks of treatment were recorded and compared between the two groups. Compare the clinical efficacy of the two groups of children after 8 weeks of treatment.
Before treatment, there was no difference in YGTSS scores, TCM evidence points and serum DA, GABA, NE levels between the two groups of children (P >0.05). after 2 weeks and 8 weeks of treatment, the YGTSS scores, TCM syndrome integral and serum DA level of the two groups decreased, while the GABA and NE levels increased. And at each time point, the observation group was better than the control group. (P <0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate was 92.86% (52/56) higher in the observation group than 73.21% (41/56) in the control group (P < 0.05).
Huanglian Wendan Decoction can effectively improve the tic symptoms of children with phlegm-heat and wind-driven TS, alleviate the children's TCM symptoms, and reduce the serum DA level, with remarkable clinical efficacy.
To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Shangqing powder with channel-guiding herbs in the treatment of acute migraine attacks.
A total of 47 patients with acute migraine attacks who visited the outpatient department of Encephalopathy at Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine between July 2023 and June 2024 were selected and divided into Group A and B using a random number table method. In the first phase (P1), Group A received Shangqing powder combined with ibuprofen, while Group B received a placebo combined with ibuprofen. After a washout period, the two groups switched treatments in the second phase (P2). Each patient received both intervention methods sequentially. The effective rate of treatment, VAS scores and accompanying symptom scores before and 2 hours, 24 hours after treatment, and short-term recurrence of migraine within 24 h and 72 h after medication were observed. The possible target points were further explored by comparing the changes of serum indicators before and after treatment.
In the P1, there were significant between-group differences in accompanying symptom scores at 24 hours, VAS scores at 24 hours, and the degree of reduction in VAS scores at 24 hours (P < 0.05). The difference in serum nitric oxide (NO) levels before and after treatment also showed significant between-group differences (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). In the P2, there were no statistically significant differences in VAS scores at 2 hours and 24 hours or accompanying symptom scores between the groups(P > 0.05). Across both phases, the efficacy rate of Shangqing powder at 2 hours post-treatment was 72.20%, significantly higher than the placebo's 34.20% (χ2 =10.716, P =0.001). Significant differences were observed in VAS scores at 24 hours and accompanying symptom scores at 2 hours and 24 hours post-treatment (P <0.05), and the migraine recurrence rate within 72 hours was reduced (P <0.01).

To study the effect of pharyngeal constrictor muscle strengthening training combined with traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation on the feeding of food of different consistency in patients with swallowing disorders in the pharyngeal stage.
Ninety-five patients with swallowing disorders in pharyngeal stage included in our hospital from April 2022 to February 2024 were selected for observation, and grouped according to the randomized numerical table method. 47 cases in the study group received pharyngeal contraction muscle strengthening training combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) rehabilitation, and 48 cases in the control group received pharyngeal contraction muscle strengthening training, and the results of clinical assessment of pharyngeal function were compared with those of the two groups, including the positive rate of the modified volumetric viscosity test (VVST-CV), the classification of the Functional Oral Intake Scale (FOIS), drinking test, and swallowing function clinical assessment results.
There was no difference in the results of FOIS and drinking test between the two groups before treatment (P >0.05), and after treatment, the FOIS grade of the study group was higher than that of the control group, but the drinking test grade was lower than that of the control group (P <0.01). There was no difference in the results of clinical assessment of swallowing function between the two groups before treatment (P >0.05), and after treatment, the incidence of effective cough was higher in the study group than in the control group, and the maximum respiratory time and the number of repeated salivary swallows were higher in comparison with the control group, but the time required for eating was less than that in the control group (P <0.01). The post-treatment positive rates of the study group for foods of different consistencies (No.1-3) were 29.79%, 14.89%, and 25.53%, respectively, all of which were lower than those of the control group, 64.58%, 45.83%, and 54.17% (P < 0.01).
For patients with swallowing disorders in the pharyngeal phase, transpharyngeal constrictor muscle strengthening training combined with Chinese medicine rehabilitation intervention is more effective, which can improve the swallowing function of patients eating food of different consistency, increase the effective cough, the longest respiratory time and the number of repeated salivary swallowing, and it is worth to be popularized and used in the clinic.
To investigate the efficacy of modified Dingchuan Decoction in treating children with cough variant asthma (CVA) of phlegm-heat accumulation in the lung syndrome and its effects on eosinophil (EOS) and serum amyloid A (SAA) levels.
From June 2021 to June 2024, a total of 104 children diagnosed with CVA (Phlegm-Heat Accumulation in the Lung Syndrome) who received treatment at Huai'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital were randomly assigned into two groups: an observation group comprising 52 cases and a control group also consisting of 52 cases, with the assignment process conducted using a random number table method. The control group received a therapeutic regimen consisting of budesonide suspension administered via inhalation, complemented by montelukast sodium chewable tablets taken orally, while the observation group was treated with modified Dingchuan Decoction. After 1 week of treatment, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, inflammatory factors (EOS and SAA), immune indicators (CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+), pulmonary function indices (FEV1 and FVC), clinical efficacy, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
After treatment, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, EOS, SAA, and CD8+ levels in the observation group and the control group decreased, with the observation group showing lower levels than the control group (P < 0.05). The CD3+, CD4+, FEV1, and FVC levels in both groups increased compared to before treatment (P <0.05). The observation group had higher levels than the control group (P <0.05). The treatment efficacy rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). During the treatment, no severe adverse reactions were observed in either group.
The modified Dingchuan Decoction is effective in treating children with CVA, which helps to suppress airway inflammation and improve the anti asthmatic effect of children, with good safety.
To observe the effect of Yangyin Runfei Qingzao Decoction combined with pirfenidone on patients with idiopathic pulmonary interstitial fibrosis.
A total of 100 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis were selected from Cangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Hebei Province. They were enrolled from September 2020 to September 2023. They were grouped by random number table method. 50 patients in pirfenidone group (1 case dropped, 49 cases eventually included) were given pirfenidone capsule treatment, and 50 patients in the combined Chinese medicine group (1 case dropped, 1 case excluded, 48 cases eventually included) were given pirfenidone capsule treatment. The pirfenidone group was treated with Yangyin Runfei Qingzao Decoction at the same time. After treatment, the clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared, the 6 min walking distance (6MWT) was measured before and after treatment, and the patients were evaluated with St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis Patient Quality of Life Scale (ATAQ-IPF). The levels of total lung volume (TLC), arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2), maximum mid-expiratory flow (MMF), and pulmonary carbon monoxide dispersion (DLco) were measured. Serum levels of IGFBP-5, CYFRA21-1, osteopontin, fibroblast growth factor (FGF -21), chemokine ligand 14 (CXCL14), malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), CD4+and CD8+ were detected.
The total effective rate of Chinese medicine combined group was higher than that of pirfenidone group (P <0.05). The expression levels of 6MWT, SGRQ score, TLC, SaO2, FGF -21, MMF, GSH-Px, DLCO and CD4+ in Chinese medicine combined group were higher than those in pirfenidone group (P < 0.05). ATAQ-IPF score, CD8+, CXCL14, MDA, IGFBP-5, Cyfra21-1 and osteopontin expression in the Chinese medicine group were lower than those in pirfenidone group (P < 0.05).
The combination therapy of Yangyin Runfei Qingzao Decoction and pirfenidone in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis can reduce inflammation and oxidative injury, improve immune function, alleviate pulmonary fibrosis, and enhance patients' quality of life, exercise tolerance, and clinical efficacy.
Ischemic stroke (IS) is a disease caused by sudden blockage of cerebral blood vessels leading to brain tissue damage, resulting in irreversible local neurological deficits and seriously threatening patients' lives and health. Currently, there are no particularly effective clinical treatments for this disease. The Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathway is a key pathway affecting the occurrence and development of IS. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exerts neuroprotective effects by regulating the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway, which has become an emerging direction for exploring IS treatment. This article takes the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway as the starting point, comprehensively reviews the regulatory role of this signaling pathway in IS pathological processes such as inflammatory response, apoptosis, cell proliferation and differentiation, and angiogenesis, analyzes recent research progress on TCM regulation of this signaling pathway to intervene in IS, and explores the potential of TCM compounds and their active components in improving IS symptoms and promoting neurological function recovery, thereby revealing the targets of TCM action and providing theoretical references for clinical treatment of IS.
Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response syndrome triggered by infection, characterized by complex pathology, high treatment difficulty, and high mortality, making it one of the challenges in clinical treatment. Among its complications, intestinal dysfunction, as a common complication of sepsis, is not only a key factor leading to multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) but also often results in poor prognosis due to its insidious nature and suboptimal therapeutic efficacy, further increasing the complexity and urgency of treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with its holistic regulatory approach and multi-pathway, multi-target characteristics, offers new strategies for the treatment of sepsis-induced intestinal dysfunction. In terms of mechanistic research, programmed cell death (PCD) plays a critical role in the pathological process of intestinal dysfunction by mediating the death of immune cells and intestinal epithelial cells. In recent years, TCM's intervention in sepsis-induced intestinal dysfunction by regulating PCD pathways has garnered widespread attention. This article summarizes recent relevant literature to review the effects and mechanisms of TCM and its active components in improving sepsis-induced intestinal dysfunction through intervention in PCD pathways, aiming to provide references and basis for the clinical treatment of sepsis-induced intestinal dysfunction.
