Glioma, as a common malignant tumor of the nervous system and one of the malignant tumors with the highest mortality rates globally, still faces the persistent clinical dilemma of low cure rate, high recurrence rate, and extremely poor prognosis to this day. Based on the theory of collateral diseases and the guiding ideology of "smoothly regulating the brain collaterals", this paper conducts in - depth research on the etiology and pathogenesis of glioma, and summarizes that the essence of its etiology and pathogenesis lies in marrow deficiency and collateral asthenia, while its manifestation is the damage to the brain collaterals by toxins. According to the theory that "the collaterals should be kept unobstructed for their normal function", the basic treatment principles are proposed as follows: tonifying the deficiency of the collaterals and replenishing essence and marrow; dispersing with acrid herbs to smooth the collaterals, resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis; freeing the collaterals to dissipate masses, expelling wind and detoxifying.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Dihuang Yinzi on cognitive function of APP/PS1 double transgenic mice and explore its underlying mechanisms. Methods: Forty - five male APP/PS1 double transgenic mice were randomly divided into 5 groups (9 mice per group) : namely the model group (normal saline), the donepezil hydrochloride group(0.84 mg/kg/d), and the low - dose, medium - dose, and high - dose Dihuang Yinzi groups (1.25, 2.5, and 5 g/kg/d, respectively). Additionally, 9 male C57BL/6J mice were used as the blank group (normal saline). All groups were treated continuously for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, the Morris water maze test was used to evaluate spatial learning and memory abilities in each group. Nissl staining was performed to observe neuronal cells and Nissl bodies in the CA3 region of the hippocampus. Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining was used to observe NDRG2 and GFAP in the CA3 region of the hippocampus. Golgi staining was used to examine the morphology of dendritic spines in pyramidal neurons in the CA3 region of the hippocampus. Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of postsynaptic density protein - 95 (PSD95) and synaptophysin (SYN) in the CA3 region of the hippocampus. Western blot was used to measure the expression of NDRG2 and EAAT1 in the hippocampus. Results: Compared with the model group, the escape latency of the Morris water maze in each dose group of Dihuang Yinzi was reduced, and the residence time in the target quadrant and the number of crossings in the target quadrant were increased (P <0.01 or P < 0.05). The number of neurons, the number of dendritic branches, and dendritic spines were increased. PSD95 and SYN were up - regulated (P <0.05), while GFAP, NDGR2, and EAAT1 were decreased (P <0.01 or P <0.05).Conclusion: Dihuang Yinzi can improve the cognitive function of APP/PS1 double transgenic mice. Its mechanism of action may be related to down - regulating the expression of NDRG2, regulating astrocytes, subsequently down - regulating EAAT1, reducing the concentration of glutamate in the synaptic cleft, improving synaptic plasticity, and alleviating hippocampal neuronal damage.

Renal hematuria (RH) originates from the glomerulus and is caused by glomerular injury. It is mainly manifested as gross or microscopic hematuria, and its pathogenesis can be divided into two aspects: deficiency and excess. Based on Liu Wansu's theory of "stagnant heat and binding", this article analyzes the functions of wind medicine in "dispelling wind" and "mimicking nature", summarizes the practices of famous doctors and experts, and attempts to explore the clinical application of wind medicine in RH. It is believed that the excess syndrome of RH is mainly manifested as the accumulation of wind - dampness, damp - heat, turbid stasis, etc. The stagnant heat and binding leads to the dysfunction of the opening and closing of the Xuanfu, resulting in blockage. The deficiency syndrome is mainly manifested as the loosening of the Xuanfu, the obstruction of pathogenic factors, and the imbalance of the function of qi - ye in nourishing the body. Both aspects can cause restlessness of the kidney collaterals, and blood flowing out of the vessels instead of following the normal meridians, thus forming RH. The adminstration of wind medicine can reach both inside and outside. Appropriate compatibility of wind medicine can not only eliminate tangible pathogenic factors such as damp - heat, blood stasis, and turbid toxins but also invigorate qi transformation and guide tonic substances. The clinical compatibility of wind medicine has a good curative effect on both the deficiency and excess aspects of RH, providing new ideas and methods for the treatment of RH.

Result: In the control group of wound healing, the total effective rate of the observation group (93.94%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (74.63%) (P <0.05) ; One day after the treatment, the wound pain in the observation group was significantly relieved after each sitz bath. In the first week of treatment, the wound pain was more obvious in the control group, while the pain improvement effect was significant in the observation group after applying the sitz bath formula. From the second week, the wound pain in the observation group showed a continuous decreasing trend. In terms of the quantitative comparison of pain, the VAS score of the observation group decreased extremely significantly, and the VAS scores at each stage after treatment were significantly lower than those of the control group (all P < 0.05). After treatment, all pain indicators in both groups decreased, and the improvement degree of pain attack frequency and duration in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group (all P < 0.05). After the treatment, the scores of the feeling of heaviness in both groups decreased. The observation group was significantly better than the control group in relieving the feeling of heaviness (all P < 0.05). After the treatment, the WHOQOL - BREF scores of both groups increased, and the increase in the observation group was greater (P < 0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, the wound area and granulation tissue growth score indicators in both groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment, and the improvement amplitude in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group (all P < 0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, the levels of the above inflammatory factors in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the reduction amplitude in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group (all P < 0.05). During the treatment period of the two groups, 2 cases of mild local pruritus occurred in the observation group (3.03%), and 1 case of skin redness after iodophor disinfection occurred in the control group(1.49%). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions (P > 0.05).Conclusion: The application of Zhilou Sukang Decoction sitz bath combined with western medicine intervention for patients after mixed hemorrhoids surgery can rapidly relieve wound pain, wound area, granulation tissue growth score, improve the feeling of heaving and inflammatory factor levels, and significantly enhance the wound healing effect, therefore, it is worthy of vigorous clinical promotion.

Objective: To analyze the therapeutic effect and immune mechanism of the Jianpi Yishen Huoxue Tongluo Paste Formula on the stable stage of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods: The clinical data of 83 COPD patients admitted to the outpatient service of Suzhou Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital during January, 2021 to August, 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the different treatment methods, they were divided into control group (n = 40,Western medicine treatment) and observation group (n = 43,Western medicine +Jianpi Yishen Huoxue Tongluo Paste Formula),which were treated for 2 months. The clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, Chinese medicine symptom scores before and after treatment, dyspnea severity [modified British Medical Research Council Respiratory Questionnaire (mMRC)], symptoms [COPD Self - Assessment Test Questionnaire (CAT)], exercise endurance [6 - minute walking distance (6MWD)], and T helper cell 17(Th17)/regulatory T were compared between the two groups Cell (Treg) ratio, and the annual number of attacks 1 year before treatment and 1 year after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of observation group was 95.00%, which was higher than that of control group 76.32% (P <0.05). After treatment, the syndrome score, mMRC score,CAT score, annual number of attacks and Th17/Treg ratio were decreased in both groups, and the 6MWD value was increased, and the change was greater in the observation group compared with the control group (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the control group(13.16%) and the observation group (5.00%) (P >0.05).Conclusion: The Jianpi Yishen Huoxue Tongluo Paste Formula is safer and more effective in the treatment of stable COPD It may exert its effect by affecting the Th17/Treg balance.

This paper elaborates on the etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment based on syndrome differentiation. It suggests that androgenetic alopecia is fundamentally characterized by deficiency of the internal organs, with dampness, wind, heat, and blood stasis as its secondary manifestations. The discussion covers internal treatment methods such as tonifying the liver and kidney, clearing heat and promoting diuresis, cooling blood and dispelling wind, and nourishing blood and moisturizing dryness, along with external treatments including acupuncture, topical preparations, and massage. The aim is to highlight the unique advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this condition, thereby enhancing clinical efficacy. Therefore, recent literature on TCM treatments for androgenetic alopecia has been reviewed in this paper.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine and metabolic disorder disease and its incidence is increasing year by year. The pathogenesis of this disease has not been clarified, which is also a major challenge in clinical treatment. Cangfu Daotan Decoction, derived from the secret recipe for diagnosis and treatment of Ye Tianshi Nvke Zhenzhi Mifang, is particularly effective in the treatment of PCOS. Studies have found that Cangfu Daotan Decoction exerts therapeutic effects by regulating phosphatidylinositol 3 - kinase/protein kinase (PI3K/Akt), nuclear transcription factor - κB(NF - κB), adenosine monophosphate - activated protein kinase (AMPK), mitogen- activated protein kinase (MAPK), and transforming growth factor - β1/SMAD family member 3 (TGF - β1/Smad3)signaling pathways. In clinical studies, Cangfu Daotan Decoction alone or modified Cangfu Daotan Decoction or in combination with western medicines or external therapies not only can alleviate the clinical symptoms of PCOS,but also are safe and effective, which are worthy of clinical application. This article systematically summarized the research progress of Cangfu Daotan Decoction by analyzing the mechanisms and clinical studies,in order to provide references for further basic experimental research and evidence to support the promotion of Cangfu Daotan Decoction for the treatment of PCOS in the future.
