On one hand, it is found that award-wining popular science books are rich in themes and cover a wide range of subject areas. On the other hand, there is also a high proportion of translated works in the "Wenjin Book Award". In this regard, the article suggests that the selection of popular science books should be studied to clarify the criteria for the classification of popular science books. What's more, evaluating readers'feedbacks and establishing an evaluation system for popular science books are crucial. For the creation and publication of popular science books, there is a need to expand the pool of creators and publishers, enhance the professionalism and popularity of the works, explore the characteristics of Chinese original science books, and improve the competitiveness of Chinese original science works in general.
The new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics has put forward new requirements for science popularization. Popular science writers in the new era should not only popularize scientific knowledge, but also convey scientific worldview and methodology to the public. Both the scientific knowledge and humanistic awareness are essential to popular science writing. By mastering the basic rules of creative writing, popular science writers can integrate their own scientific and humanistic literacy and knowledge in their creation, so as to improve the quality of popular science works. Writing on the basis of domestic popular science creating and academic studies, writers need to learn from relevant experiences in the field of creative writing, and bring creative writing into the education system of popular science writers, which is helpful to form a new ecology of Chinese popular science writing.

In this paper, we analyze the creation strategy of short science videos from three dimensions. Firstly, in terms of topic selection, producers can combine national development strategies and policy deployment, pay attention to national scientific and technological innovation achievements, refer to the annual guide for science popularization creation, draw on other large-scale science popularization activities and outstanding science popularization publications, combine current news and social hotspots and daily life, and explore suitable themes for creation. Secondly, as for the titles, one need to pay attention to the type of speech and the flexible use of a variety of sentence patterns and figures of speech, such as metaphors, parody and contrasts. Lastly, for better content presentation, technical advantages are brought into play to maximise the scientific, interesting and artistic nature of the work, enhance its appeal and public influence.
In the era of new media, the creators and disseminators of online popular science content should not blindly follow the trend, but learn to avoid legal risks and safeguard their own rights and interests. The article summarizes and analyzes the legal issues and risks faced by healthcare professionals in the creation and dissemination of live webcasts and short videos of popular medical science, and points out that the production of short videos of medical science should comply with regulations in both form and content, advocating that content creators need to have risk awareness. Finally, legal precautionary measures and ways to defend the rights of content creators are provided.

The intellectuals of the late Qing Dynasty represented by Liang Qichao attached great importance to the communication advantages and social functions of fiction. As a combined product of literature and science, science fiction also naturally assumes the important mission of disseminating scientific knowledge and enlightening the public. However, when specific fictional texts are examined, the complicated understandings of science of the late Qing authors are revealed. It is discovered that many authors either held suspicious views of science, wrote stories against common sense, or believed in the philosophy of religion. These various attitudes, emotions and beliefs represent some common epistemological features during the process of science exploration, signifying progressive values in modern Chinese thought.

Compared with traditional media, short videos are more popular among the audience, as they are more in line with the market preferences and the preference of fragmented information of the Internet era, which has led to a change of methods in science popularization and an influx of content creators. Meanwhile, many problems have also arisen. For example, the number of creators is huge, but their content quality is uneven, and the low threshold of this field leads to a motley mixture of creators; many video creators emphasize on knowledge over value, resulting in the growing spread of rumors and pseudoscience amongst the rapid increase of video quantity; the platforms' algorithm fuels the production of "information cocoons", leading creators to create for web traffics and clicks; the lack of proper mechanism of evaluation as a guidance cause a scarcity of quality videos produced by scientists and technicians. Therefore, based on the current development of popular science short videos, the existing advantages, and emerging problems, this article proposes suggestions for the future development of popular science popularization short videos from the perspectives of the creation source, the evaluation mechanism of video quality and effect, and the integration of theory and practice in content creation.
