With the development of mobile Internet technology, new media has become the main means of obtaining information, socializing and entertainment. New media has become important platforms for the creation of popular science content due to its low threshold of content production, speedy transmission, and strong interaction, which has brought great changes to the presentation of popular science content. This paper analyzes the new characteristics of popular science content creation in the era of new media, and the problems in popular science creation, including severe homogeneity, insufficient scientific reliability and inferior business models. In response to these problems, this paper proposes strategies for the creation and its communication of new media popular science.
