    This paper traces back the history of ancient Chinese medical articles and summarizes the modern research views, aiming to restore the historical appearance of " opening the four passes" along with " Siguan acupoints", and to explore the original meaning of their concepts as well as their gradual transmutation during the historical changes. We believe that the original meaning of " opening the four passes" is a guiding principle referring to freeing the circulation of qi among the four passes, while " opening Siguan acupoints" is the specific treatment operation of acupuncturing at Hegu (acupoint LI4) and Taichong (acupoint LR3), which are known as " Siguan acupoints". They should be unequivocally differentiated in the conceptual hierarchy in order to provide clearer guidance and refinement for future theoretical researches and clinical practices.

    Objective:

    To investigate the potential mechanism of Xiaoqinglong Decoction (XQLD) in treating allergic rhinitis (AR) through autophagy and the IL -33/ST2 pathway.

    Methods:

    An ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized mouse model of allergic rhinitis was established. Twenty-four mice were randomly assigned to four groups: control group, model group, dexamethasone (Dex) group, and XQLD group. All groups except the control received intraperitoneal injections of PBS containing 50 μg OVA and 2 mg aluminum hydroxide on days 1, 7, and 14 for sensitization. From days 21 to 27, mice were challenged intranasally with 400 μg OVA every 24 hours (4 total challenges). Interventions: The XQLD group received XQLD (10. 14 g/kg), the dexamethasone group received dexamethasone disodium phosphate (1 mg/kg), while the model and control groups received equivalent volumes of PBS. All treatments were administered once daily via gavage for 7 days. At 24 h after the final challenge, nasal symptoms (sneezing, scratching, rhinorrhea) were evaluated using a double-blind protocol. Serum was collected for the detection of OVA-specific IgE (OVA-sIgE) and Th1/Th2 cytokines (IL-2, IL-12, IL-5, IL-13) using ELISA. Nasal mucosa tissues underwent Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining, and immunohistochemical analysis was performed for IL-2, IL-12, IL-5, IL-13, IL-33, ST2, Beclin1, and P62.

    Results:

    compared to the control group, mice in the model group exhibited significantly elevated symptom scores (P < 0.01). The nasal mucosa showed pathological changes including epithelial desquamation, vasodilation, glandular hyperplasia, and extensive inflammatory cell infiltration. Serum OVA-sIgE, IL-5, and IL-13 levels were significantly increased (P < 0.01), while IL-2 and IL-12 levels were decreased (P < 0.01). In nasal mucosa tissue, the protein expression of IL-5, IL-13, IL-33, ST2, and P62 was elevated (P < 0.01), whereas the expression of IL-2, IL-12, and Beclin1 was decreased (P < 0.01). Compared to the model group, mice treated with XQLD and Dex groups showed significantly reduced symptom scores (P < 0.01) and improved nasal mucosal pathology. Serum OVA-sIgE, IL-5, and IL-13 levels decreased (P <0.01), while IL-2 and IL-12 levels increased (P <0.01). In nasal mucosa tissue, the protein expression of IL-2, IL-12, and Beclin1 increased (P <0.01), while the expression of IL-5, IL-13, IL-33, ST2, and P62 decreased (P < 0.01). No statistically significant differences were observed between the XQLD group and the Dex group regarding symptom scores, serum IL-2, IL-12, IL-5, OVA- sIgE levels, and nasal mucosa tissue IL-2, IL-12, IL-5, IL-13, Beclin1, and P62 protein expression (P >0.05).

    Conclusion:

    XQLD alleviates nasal symptoms and pathological damage in AR mice by synergistically regulating Th1/Th2 immune balance through autophagy activation and IL -33/ST2 pathway inhibition.

    Objective:

    To investigate the promoting effect of Ruyi Jinhuang Powder on wound repair in rats with radiation-induced skin injury and its potential mechanisms.

    Methods:

    Untargeted detection of the chemical components of Ruyi Jinhuang Powder was performed using UHPLC-QE-MS. Seventy-five male SD rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group, triethanolamine group (TEA), Ruyi Jinhuang Powder low-frequency group (Ruyi Jinhuang Powder-L), and Ruyi Jinhuang Powder high-frequency group (Ruyi Jinhuang Powder-H). Except for the normal group, rats in all other groups received a single dose of 90 Gy irradiation on the left buttock to establish a radiation-induced skin injury model, followed by continuous drug treatment for 8 weeks. Wound healing was assessed by wound photography and ImageJ measurement. Histopathological changes were observed via HE staining, and collagen deposition was evaluated by Sirius Red staining and immunohistochemistry. Skin tissues from the normal group, model group, and Ruyi Jinhuang Powder-H group were collected at 4 weeks post-irradiation for DIA quantitative proteomic analysis, followed by functional enrichment analysis of differentially expressed proteins.

    Results:

    A total of 1, 490 annotable compounds were identified by UHPLC-QE-MS, and 95 candidate components were screened based on the physicochemical properties of the topical formulation, providing a chemical basis for subsequent mechanistic analysis. Ruyi Jinhuang Powder promoted wound closure in radiation-induced skin injury, increased the healing rate (P <0.01), alleviated epidermal structural disruption and dermal inflammatory cell infiltration (P <0.001), and improved insufficient collagen deposition and disordered fiber arrangement (P < 0.001, P < 0.000 1), with more pronounced effects in the high-frequency group. Proteomics quantified a total of 9,075 proteins, among which 3,183 differentially expressed proteins were identified between the model group and the normal group, and 1,614 differentially expressed proteins were identified between the Ruyi Jinhuang Powder-H group and the model group. Further analysis revealed that Ruyi Jinhuang Powder reversed 1, 186 abnormally expressed proteins, mainly involving molecules related to epidermal barrier function, keratinization/differentiation, tight junctions, and extracellular matrix remodeling. GO enrichment analysis showed that after Ruyi Jinhuang Powder intervention, the differentially expressed proteins were mainly enriched in biological processes such as intermediate filament organization, response to xenobiotic stimulus, cholesterol biosynthesis, and keratinization. KEGG enrichment analysis showed that the differentially expressed proteins were significantly enriched in pathways including regulation of actin cytoskeleton, endocytosis, MAPK signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum, ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, PPAR signaling pathway, NOD-like receptor signaling pathway, and metabolic pathways.

    Conclusion:

    Ruyi Jinhuang Powder can promote wound repair in radiation-induced skin injury, improve histological damage and collagen-related abnormalities, and its mechanisms may involve the regulation of epidermal barrier function, keratinization/differentiation, tight junctions, extracellular matrix remodeling, and protein homeostasis. These findings provide an experimental basis and theoretical foundation for subsequent validation of key targets and functional studies.

    Objective:

    Based on the principle of traditional Chinese medicine quality markers (Q-Markers), this study applies the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) combined with the Indicator-Relatedness Indicator Weighting Method (CRITIC) to preliminarily screen potential quality markers for Abri Herba A radar visualization spectrum is constructed based on the " Cobweb" model to further optimize the screening results, providing scientific evidence and reference for the quality control of Abri Herba.

    Methods:

    The chemical components of Abri Herba that are associated with its primary functions (anti-inflammatory, liver-protective, and antioxidant effects) were identified through database retrieval. The AHP method was used to analyze the weight of the factor-layer indicators (efficacy, specificity, and measurability). The CRITIC method was applied to analyze the control-layer data under each factor. The final weights were calculated using the AHP-CRITIC method. A six-dimensional radar chart was constructed based on the integrated AHP-CRITIC scoring results, with the dimensions of " anti-inflammatory, liver-protective, antioxidant, efficacy, specificity, and measurability."

    Results:

    A total of 20 potential quality markers were initially screened using the AHP-CRITIC method. Based on the radar visualization spectrum, luteolin, rheumemodin, catechin, ursolic acid, citric acid, and abrus alkaloids were predicted as potential quality markers for Abri Herba.

    Conclusion:

    The AHP-CRITIC method and the radar visualization spectrum technique based on the " spider-web" model were applied to preliminarily predict the quality markers of Abri Herba, providing a reference for its quality evaluation and future development.

    Hyperlipidemia in the elderly is a common metabolic disorder with a high incidence rate, serving as a significant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Professor Zhang Tiezong believes that the pathogenesis of hyperlipidemia in the elderly is due to spleen deficiency and liver stagnation, leading to internal dampness turbidity, which originates from the spleen's failure to transport and transform water and grain essence properly. The liver's failure to regulate qi leads to qi stagnation, further blocking the distribution of water and grain essence, ultimately resulting in phlegm turbidity and blood stasis. He adopts the treatment principle of " simultaneously regulating the liver and spleen" and has developed the " Hexie Decoction" specifically for treating hyperlipidemia in the elderly with spleen deficiency and liver stagnation syndrome. The combination of herbs in the formula works together to invigorate qi, strengthen the spleen, resolve dampness, eliminate turbidity, soothe the liver, and regulate lipids. This theory and formula start by regulating the functions of the liver and spleen, promoting the transportation and transformation of water and grain essence, thereby inheriting and innovating traditional Chinese medicine theory for the treatment of hyperlipidemia in the elderly and providing new insights.

    Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease with complex causes. It is stubborn, persistent, and difficult to cure, imposing multiple burdens on patients both physiologically, psychologically, and economically. Based on the traditional approach of treating psoriasis through the concept of blood, Professor Wang Yuxi broke through the limitation of treating only the blood and proposed that the disease starts with toxins. External toxins invade and internal toxins accumulate, triggering disease progression, which intertwines with blood heat and blood stasis, ultimately forming a core pathological chain of " toxins-blood stasis-collaterals" where each factor causes the other: toxins induce blood heat, burning the collaterals; blood stasis assists toxins in stagnating the collaterals and prolonging the disease; and the collaterals serve as carriers for the entanglement of toxins and blood stasis, causing skin lesions. Based on this, a phased treatment system was established: during the active phase, clear heat and detoxify, cool the blood and open the collaterals; during the stationary phase, resolve stasis and open the collaterals, eliminate residual toxins; during the regression phase, unblock the collaterals and support the body, nourish the blood and yin. This system is theoretically innovative with its focus on toxins-blood stasis-collaterals, and under this guidance, it fully highlights the unique advantages of the holistic view and syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of psoriasis, providing a new and effective approach for diagnosis and treatment.

    Objective:

    To investigate the application of acupuncture combined with sports acupuncture in the treatment of chronic ankle synovitis based on the theory of " Treating Lower Diseases by Acting on the Upper Body".

    Methods:

    98 patients with chronic ankle synovitis admitted to the Department of Soft Tissue Injury of Sichuan Orthopedic Hospital from September 2024 to April 2025 were selected and divided into two groups using the random number method, each with 49 cases. The control group was given conventional treatment, and the treatment group was treated with the 'lower disease upper treatment' theory of acupuncture combined with sports acupuncture for two consecutive weeks. Clinical efficacy, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, degree of ankle swelling, most painful point, pain threshold, ankle joint range of motion, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) scores were compared between the two groups.

    Results:

    Treatment group had a higher clinical efficacy rate in contrast to control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the VAS score, degree of ankle joint swelling and pain threshold in both groups decreased compared with those before treatment, while the AOFAS score and range of motion of the ankle joint increased compared with those before treatment (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the treatment group exhibited lower VAS scores, reduced ankle swelling, and lower pain thresholds, while demonstrating higher AOFAS scores, greater ankle range of motion, and a higher number of patients with improvement in the most painful point (P <0.05).

    Conclusion:

    Under the guidance of the " treating the lower disease from the upper" theory, acupuncture combined with sports acupuncture therapy can effectively relieve the pain and swelling symptoms of patients with chronic ankle synovitis, promote the recovery of joint function, and significantly improve the therapeutic effect.

    Objective:

    To observe the treatment of patients with wind-cold type peripheral facial palsy using acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy based on meridian sinew theory.

    Methods:

    A total of 120 patients with wind-cold type peripheral facial palsy treated at the Acupuncture and Physiotherapy Department of Zhengzhou Central Hospital from May 2022 to May 2024 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into an acupuncture group (sinew acupuncture therapy) and a combination group (sinew acupuncture combined with bloodletting at Yifeng acupoint), with 60 cases in each group. The acupuncture group received sinew acupuncture based on meridian sinew theory, with acupoint selection including: Quanliao (SI18), Cuanzhu (BL2), Sibai (ST2), Yangbai (GB14), Taiyang (EX-HN5), Dicang (ST4), Jiache (ST6), and Hegu (LI4). Subcutaneous longitudinal and transverse shallow needling was performed. In the combination group, in addition to the acupuncture points used in the acupuncture group, bloodletting therapy at Yifeng (TE17) was performed. The area around Yifeng acupoint was clamped with the thumb, index, and middle fingers of the left hand, pricked several times, followed by cupping on the pricked area. Five consecutive days of treatment constituted one course, with a 2-day interval between courses. A total of two courses were administered. After the two courses of treatment, the House-Brackmann (H-B) grading scale, Facial Disability Index (FDI), Portmann scale for peripheral facial neuritis, blink reflex, and facial electromyography parameters were observed in both groups before and after treatment to evaluate and compare the clinical efficacy.

    Results:

    After treatment, the FDI scale scores showed that the improvement in the physical function dimension (FDIP) score was significantly greater in the combination group than in the acupuncture group, while the decrease in the social function dimension (FDIS) score was more pronounced in the combination group, with statistically significant differences (P <0.05), indicating that the combined therapy had superior comprehensive improvement in patients' physiological function and social adaptability. The Portmann scale scores showed that the combination group had significantly higher scores than the acupuncture group (P < 0.05), indicating better improvement in facial nerve function in the combination group. The latencies of the orbicularis oris muscle, orbicularis oculi muscle, and nasalis muscle were significantly shortened in both groups compared with before treatment (P < 0.05). The latencies of the orbicularis oris muscle, orbicularis oculi muscle, and nasalis muscle in the combination group were significantly shorter than those in the acupuncture group (P <0.05). After treatment, the latencies of R1, R2, and contralateral R2' waves in both groups were significantly shorter than those before intervention, and the combination group showed significantly shorter latencies than the acupuncture group, with statistically significant differences (P <0.05), indicating that the combination group had better efficacy in repairing facial nerve function.

    Conclusion:

    Acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy based on meridian sinew theory can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with wind-cold type peripheral facial palsy. Both treatments have significant efficacy in patients with wind-cold type peripheral facial palsy, but the combination of sinew acupuncture and bloodletting at Yifeng acupoint is superior to acupuncture alone. This combined therapy can reduce nerve inflammation, improve local blood circulation, repair damaged nerve fibers, regulate nerve excitability, better promote the recovery of facial nerve function.

    Objective:

    To analyze the effects of Sihuang Shengji decoction on serum activin A (AC-TA), interleukin-1 α (IL-1α), and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) after perianal abscess surgery with damp-heat toxicity accumulation.

    Methods:

    176 patients with perianal abscess who were treated by surgery in the Fourth People's Hospital of Jinan from December 2022 to December 2024 were selected and randomly divided into routine group and decoction group, with 88 cases in each group. Conventional group: Received conventional postoperative treatment. Decoction group: On the basis of the control group, Sihuang Shengji Decoction was used for treatment. Evaluate the level of TCM syndrome scores of patients; Calculate the improvement time of symptoms in the two groups; The degree of pain of the patients was evaluated by using the VAS score scale. The anal function of the patients was evaluated using the Wexner scoring scale; Detect the maximum systolic pressure of the anal canal and the resting pressure of the anal canal; Detect the levels of VEGF, TGF-β1, SOD, MDA, AC-TA, IL-1α and PDGF. Compare the clinical effective situation.

    Results:

    After treatment, compared with the conventional group, TCM syndrome score, Wexner score, VAS score, MDA, AC-TA, IL-1 α level were decreased (P < 0.01) ; maximum anal tube systolic pressure, anal resting pressure, VE GF, TGF-β1, SOD, and PDGF levels were increased (P < 0.01) ; improvement time of symptoms in the decoction group was shortened (P <0.01) ; total response rate increased in the decoction group (P < 0.01). The incidence of adverse reactions in the decoction group was higher than that in the conventional group (P > 0.05).

    Conclusion:

    For postoperative patients with perianal abscess caused by damp-heat toxicity accumulation, the treatment with Sihuang Shengji decoction can reduce the level of TCM syndrome score, improve anal function, and regulate the levels of serum AC-TA, IL-1α, and PDGF, with remarkable clinical effects.

    Objective:

    To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of self-designed Yiqi Yangyin Tongluo Formula combined with intestinal microecological regulators in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

    Methods:

    A prospective cohort study was conducted on 120 patients with rheumatoid arthritis admitted to Xinyang Central Hospital from January 2022 to January 2025, using a random number table method. Both groups received leflunomide tablets. The conventional group was treated with intestinal microecological modulators, while the combined group received self-designed Yiqi Yangyin Tongluo Formula combined with intestinal microecological modulators. Microbiome diversity metrics (evenness and richness), anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibody levels, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels were measured in both groups. Clinical efficacy outcomes were statistically analyzed.

    Results:

    There was no difference in the uniformity and richness of the microbiome flora between the two groups before treatment (P >0.05). Before and after treatment, the uniformity and richness of the microbiome in both groups increased, and the uniformity and richness of the microbiome in the comprehensive group after treatment were higher than those in the conventional group (P <0.05). There was no difference in the relevant scores between the two groups before treatment (P >0.05). Before and after treatment, the scores of the Arthritis Quality of Life Scale 2 (AIMS2-SF) in both groups increased, and the comprehensive group was higher than the conventional group after treatment (P < 0.05). The TCM symptom scores, DAS28 scores and VAS scores of both groups decreased, and the comprehensive group was lower than the conventional group (P < 0.05). There was no difference in anti-CCP antibody, ESR and CRP between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05). Before and after treatment, the anti-CCP antibody, ESR and CRP in both groups decreased, and the comprehensive group was lower than the conventional group after treatment (P <0.05). The improvement rate of ACR20 in the comprehensive group was 61. 67%, which was higher than 43. 33% in the conventional group. The improvement rates of ACR50 and ACR70 were 46. 67% and 15. 00% respectively, and there was no difference compared with 31. 67% and 6. 67% in the control group (P >0.05).

    Conclusion:

    The Self-designed Yiqi Yangyin Tongluo Formula combined with intestinal microecological regulators in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis can reduce the levels of anti-CCP antibody, ESR and CRP, alleviate symptoms.

    Objective:

    To explore the efficacy of Qutan Huayu Tongbi Decoction combined with VRD regimen in the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) with phlegm-stasis obstructing collateral syndrome.

    Methods:

    A prospective randomized controlled placebo study was conducted, enrolling 132 MM patients with phlegm-stasis obstructing collateral syndrome admitted to the Department of Hematopathy of Qingyang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024. Patients were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table. The control group (66 cases) received VRD chemotherapy combined with Chinese medicine placebo, while the observation group (66 cases) received VRD chemotherapy combined with Qutan Huayu Tongbi Decoction. Both groups were treated continuously for 4 cycles. The chemotherapy efficacy, TCM syndrome score, degree of bone pain, quality of life, blood biochemistry, coagulation indicators and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.

    Results:

    The DCR (95. 45% vs 63. 63%), ORR (81. 82% vs 51. 52%), and the total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine (93. 94% vs 77. 27%) in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group (P <0.01), while the overall incidence of adverse reactions was lower (7. 58% vs 22. 73% , P <0.05). After treatment, both groups showed a decrease in TCM syndrome score, bone pain Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score, and levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), derived neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (dNLR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), bone marrow plasma cell proportion, β2-microglobulin (β2-MG), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), D-dimer (D-D), and plasma fibrinogen (FIB) compared to before treatment (P < 0.01), with the observation group showing lower values than the control group (P < 0.01). The lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), hemoglobin (Hb), Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) score, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) score increased compared to before treatment (P < 0.05), with the observation group showing higher values than the control group (P <0.01). Prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) were prolonged compared to before treatment (P < 0.01), with the observation group showing longer times than the control group (P < 0.01).

    Conclusion:

    The combination of Qutan Huayu Tongbi Decoction and VRD chemotherapy regimen can effectively enhance the therapeutic effect of chemotherapy for multiple myeloma, alleviate clinical symptoms, bone pain and anemia, improve coagulation and renal functions, regulate immune inflammation, enhance the physical condition and quality of life of patients, and has good safety.

    To observe the effect of Yangxin Decoction combined with Valsartan on the Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88)/nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) pathway in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of elderly patients with hypertension complicated with heart failure (referred to as heart failure).

    Methods:

    A total of 82 elderly patients with hypertension complicated by heart failure and deficiency of qi-blood, as well as restlessness of the mind were selected from Henan Provincial Veterans' Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024. They were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method, with 41 cases in each group. Both groups were given symptomatic treatment. The control group was treated with valsartan, while the treatment group was treated with Yangxin Decoction combined with valsartan. Both groups were given continuous treatment for 8 weeks. The cardiac function indicators, blood pressure, TLR4/Macrophage Differentiation Factor 88 (MyD88)/Nuclear Factor-κB (NF-κB) pathway factors, C1q Tumor Necrosis Factor-related Protein 3 (CTRP3), N-terminal Brain Natriuretic Peptide precursor (NT-proBNP), Troponin I (cTnI), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels were compared between the two groups, and the incidence of adverse reactions was statistically analyzed.

    Results

    There was no significant difference in the pre-treatment cardiac function indicators, blood pressure, CTRP3, BNP, cTnI, and hs-CRP between the two groups (P >0.05). After treatment, the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), CTRP3, and the ratio of early to late diastolic filling velocity (E/A) in both groups increased compared with those before treatment, while blood pressure, BNP, left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD), cTnI, hs-CRP, and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD) decreased (P <0.05). The LVEF and E/A in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group after treatment, while LVESD and LVEDD were lower (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB pathway factors before treatment between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the relative expression levels of TLR4, MyD88, and NF-κB in both groups decreased compared with those before treatment (P < 0. 05). The relative expression levels of TLR4, MyD88, and NF-κB in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group after treatment (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the cumulative incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05).

    Conclusion:

    The combination of Yangxin Decoction and Valsartan can regulate the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway in elderly patients with hypertension, improve cardiac function, lower blood pressure, and does not increase adverse reactions.

    Objective:

    To study the effects of Modified Yulin Zhu combined with warm acupuncture on endometrial receptivity and serum leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) levels in patients with thin endometrium of renal deficiency and blood stasis type.

    Methods:

    84 patients with thin endometrium (renal deficiency and blood stasis type) admitted to Taizhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to September 2024 were selected, the grouping method was random number table method, the patients were divided into control group (treated with estradiol tablets/estradiol dydrogesterone tablets composite packaging, 42 cases) and observation group (treated with Modified Yulin Zhu and warm acupuncture on the basis of control group, 42 cases), the clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, menstrual blood volume score, endometrial receptivity, serum LIF, VEGF, MMP-9 and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between two groups.

    Results:

    The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of control group (P <0.05). Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score in observation group were lower than those in control group 3 months after treatment, the endometrial thickness was greater than that in control group, and menstrual blood volume score, serum LIF, MMP-9 and VEGF were higher than those in control group (P <0.01). There was no difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the observation group and the control group (P > 0.05).

    Conclusion:

    Modified Yulin Zhu combine with warm acupuncture treatment, which can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with thin endometrium of renal deficiency and blood stasis type, and regulate endometrial receptivity, which may be relate to the improvement of serum LIF, VEGF and MMP-9 levels.

    Objective:

    To analyze the effects of early limb rehabilitation training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation on patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction (Cerebral Infarction, CI).

    Methods:

    A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 128 patients with hemiplegia after CI from October 2022 to October 2024. Among them, 64 patients received conventional treatment and rehabilitation training as the control group, while another 64 patients underwent early limb rehabilitation training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation as the study group. The cerebral circulation hemodynamics indicators of both groups were analyzed, and assessments were performed using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), Functional Composite Assessment (FCA), and Berg Balance Scale (BBS).

    Results:

    Before treatment, there were no statistically differences in cerebral circulation hemodynamics indicators between two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the study group higher minimum blood flow velocity and minimum blood flow volume compared to the control group(P < 0.01), along with significantly higher critical pressure and cerebrovascular peripheral resistance (P <0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in MoCA and MMSE scores between two groups (P >0.05). After treatment, the study group showed higher MoCA and MMSE scores (P <0.05, P < 0.01). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in limb motor function between two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the study group demonstrated higher upper and lower limb motor function scores (P <0.01). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in motor balance function between two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the study group higher FCA and BBS scores (P < 0.01).

    Conclusion:

    Early limb rehabilitation training combined with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation yields favorable outcomes for patients with hemiplegia after CI, not only improving cognitive function and mental state but also enhancing limb motor function and motor performance, while also contributing to the stabilization of cerebral circulation hemodynamics indicators.

    Objective:

    Investigating the Clinical Efficacy of a self-formulated Jianpi Chuji Formula in Alleviating Toxic Side Effects Following Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor (ICI) Therapy in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients.

    Methods:

    A total of 98 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who received immunotherapy (ICIs) at Cangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Hebei Province from May 2019 to May 2021 were enrolled as study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group (n=49) and a treatment group (n = 49). The control group received immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy combined with a platinum-based dual-drug regimen. The treatment group received the same regimen supplemented with self-formulated Jianpi Chuji Formula. Changes in thyroid function indicators, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin 19 fragment (CYFRA21-1), adverse reaction incidence, and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.

    Results:

    Following treatment, both groups exhibited elevated levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and KPS scores. Symptoms including fatigue, skin keratosis, pain, limb numbness, sallow complexion, pulse, dark tongue, total score, total thyroxine (TT4), free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), CYFRA21-1, and CEA levels decreased in both groups, with greater improvement observed in the treatment group compared to the control group (P < 0. 01). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P >0. 05). Compared to the control group, the treatment group demonstrated higher objective response rates (ORR) and disease control rates (DCR) (P <0. 01). Multivariate analysis showed that age and pathological type had no significant effect on treatment response (P >0. 05) ; After 6 months of follow-up, progression-free survival was better in the treatment group than that in the control group (P <0.05).

    Conclusion:

    Treatment with self-formulated Jianpi Chuji Formula in non-small cell lung cancer patients following ICIs therapy demonstrated significant efficacy. This approach effectively improved patients' quality of life, reduced tumor marker levels, enhanced thyroid function, and decreased the incidence of toxic side effects.

    Objective:

    To investigate the clinical efficacy of 3HRZE/6HRE regimen assisted by Bushen Huoxue Formula in the treatment of patients with intermediate and advanced renal tuberculosis, and to analyze the safety of this therapeutic strategy.

    Methods:

    The clinical data of 122 patients with advanced renal tuberculosis who were treated in Shaanxi Provincial Tuberculosis Prevention and Treatment Hospital from March 2021 to June 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different treatment regimens, they were divided into control group and observation group. 61 patients in the control group were treated with 3HRZE/6HRE regimen alone. 61 patients in the observation group were treated with Bushen Huoxue Formula combined with 3HRZE/6HRE regimen. The course of treatment was 9 months. The clinical efficacy, inflammatory response [interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), interleukin-6 (IL-6), blood sedimentation rate (ESR)], liver and kidney function [azelaic transaminase (AST), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), quantitative 24 h urinary protein (24 h UTP)], quality of life determination scale (QLICD-PT) scores, and the incidence rate of adverse reactions were observed in the two groups.

    Results:

    The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the levels of IFN-γ, IL-6, ESR, BUN, and 24 h UTP were lower than those before treatment in both groups (P <0.05), and the observation group was lower than the control group (P <0.05); and the levels of AST and the scores of each dimension of QLICD-PT were higher than those before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group (P <0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group compared with the control group (P > 0.05).

    Conclusion:

    Bushen Huoxue Formula assisted 3HRZE/6HRE regimen in treating patients with intermediate and advanced renal tuberculosis can significantly improve the therapeutic efficacy and quality of survival, and improve the liver and kidney function, inhibit the expression of inflammation, and have a good safety.

    Objective:

    To investigate the clinical efficacy of fire needle pricking combined with Kinesio taping in the treatment of lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis caused by military training, and to analyze its mechanism from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine theory.

    Methods:

    A total of 70 patients diagnosed with lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis induced by military training in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation, No. 910 Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from November 2023 to November 2024 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into a control group (fire needle pricking alone) and an experimental group (fire needle pricking combined with Kinesio taping), with 35 cases in each group. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome scores, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores, pain mediators (PGE2, 5-HT), and SF-36 scores were evaluated in both groups.

    Results:

    After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores, VAS scores, and levels of PGE2 and 5-HT in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The JOA scores, as well as the SF-36 subscale scores for physical function, emotional function, cognitive function, social function, role function, and general health, were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05).

    Conclusion:

    Fire needle pricking combined with Kinesio taping demonstrates significant therapeutic effects in treating lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis caused by military training. It can rapidly alleviate pain and improve sensory disturbances. The mechanism may be associated with inhibiting local inflammatory responses and promoting nerve repair. This combined therapy is safe and easy to operate, making it suitable for widespread application in the prevention and treatment of military training-related injuries.

    This study systematically analyzed the relevant literature on animal models of pulmonary nodules in recent years and integrated the understanding of their etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and syndrome differentiation treatment from both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine. On this basis, the application characteristics of existing models were compared, and their clinical consistency was evaluated from both TCM syndrome types and Western medical indicators. The study found that most existing models were established by inducing inflammation, fibrosis, or tumors, and they performed well in simulating the imaging manifestations of pulmonary nodules. In terms of Western medical indicators, the consistency of the models in pathological and imaging indicators was 70%-85%, indicating that they could well simulate the morphology and some pathological processes of nodules, but there were still limitations in dynamic progression and systemic physiological changes. In terms of TCM syndrome differentiation, the pathological manifestations of the models mostly corresponded to the " phlegm" and " blood stasis" categories, with the highest consistency with the syndrome of phlegm and blood stasis combination (about 60%), but the overall simulation of " deficiency syndromes" such as qi deficiency and yin deficiency was significantly insufficient. In summary, although the existing models can reflect some key features of pulmonary nodules, especially in Western medical indicators and phlegm and blood stasis syndrome types, they still lack systematic simulation of TCM overall syndrome differentiation, especially in the dimension of deficiency syndromes. Future research can utilize multi-omics dynamic monitoring technology to construct new animal models that better conform to the TCM syndrome differentiation concept, in order to provide beneficial references for related research on pulmonary nodules. This study systematically reviewed and analyzed recent literature on animal models of pulmonary nodules. By integrating insights from both traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine regarding the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical diagnostic criteria, and syndrome differentiation and treatment of pulmonary nodules, the study compared the applications of existing animal models and evaluated their clinical relevance based on two criteria: consistency with TCM syndrome patterns and alignment with Western medical indicators. The findings indicate that current animal models are primarily established through induction of inflammation, fibrosis, or tumorigenesis, all of which effectively replicate the imaging characteristics of pulmonary nodules. The concordance with Western medical indicators ranges from 70% to 85%. Pathologically, these models most closely reflect the TCM concepts of phlegm and blood stasis, showing the highest correspondence-up to 60%-with the phlegm-stasis intermingling syndrome. While there is a measurable alignment between the pathological features of these models and the TCM theory of phlegm and stasis, they remain limited in representing systemic deficiency patterns. Therefore, future research should aim to integrate multi-omics dynamic monitoring approaches and develop more sophisticated animal models that better embody the holistic principles of TCM syndrome differentiation, thereby providing more meaningful support for pulmonary nodule research.

    Ovarian aging is an important factor causing female infertility, and its pathogenesis is complex. Currently, the use of hormone replacement therapy has limitations. Therefore, in-depth exploration of the pathogenesis of ovarian aging and seeking safe and effective treatment methods have great clinical application value. Metabolic reprogramming plays an important role in the growth, development, and maturation of oocytes, and its abnormalities can accelerate ovarian aging by activating related signaling pathways and regulating the expression of apoptosis related proteins. In recent years, research on the regulation of metabolic reprogramming by traditional Chinese medicine to delay ovarian aging has made certain progress. This article summarizes and analyzes the metabolic reprogramming abnormalities in sugar, lipid, amino acid, and immune metabolism during ovarian aging, and summarizes the relevant studies on the regulation of these core metabolic links by traditional Chinese medicine extracts and formulas to delay the process of ovarian aging. The aim is to provide new clinical treatment ideas for delaying ovarian aging and improving female fertility from the perspective of regulating metabolic reprogramming by traditional Chinese medicine.
