Metabolic syndrome and coronary heart disease often coexist, forming complex pathological interactions. Based on the six-meridian syndrome differentiation system from Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases, this study explored the synergistic application in etiology, pathogenesis, progression patterns and dynamic therapeutic strategies. From the initial stage of Taiyang disease (exogenous pathogen invasion and disharmony of nutrient-defense systems), Yangming disease (internal heat accumulation and epigastric fullness/pain), Shaoyang disease (impaired pivot mechanism and chest-hypochondrium discomfort), to the advanced stages of Taiyin disease (spleen Yang deficiency with cold-damp obstruction), Shaoyin disease (heart-kidney disharmony and imbalance of water-fire equilibrium) and Jueyin disease (complex deficiency-excess and cold-heat interweaving), this paper proposed a full-cycle treatment strategy encompassing “prevention before disease onset, disease progression control and recurrence prevention post-recovery”. Six-meridian syndrome differentiation precisely captures disease progression trends, balances deficiency-excess and cold-heat patterns and reflects the holistic and personalized advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, offering novel insights for managing complex metabolic cardiovascular diseases.

Chinese medicinal materials of Amomum are derived from the fruit of the plant Amomum. It has the effects of drying dampness and warming the middle, removing phlegm and stopping malaria, dispelling dampness and stimulating appetite, warming spleen and stopping diarrhea, regulating Qi and stabilizing the fetus, dispelling dampness and eliminating diarrhea, regulating Qi and promoting appetite and digestion, and there are various processing methods. The purpose of processing Amomum is to “reduce toxicity and increase efficiency”. At present, there is a lack of systematic fusion studies on the changes of chemical components and pharmacodynamics after processing. This paper summarized the processing methods, chemical composition and pharmacological activity changes of Chinese medicinal materials of Amomum. It is found that the common processing methods are cleaning, cutting, stir-frying, salt-processing, wine-processing and ginger-processing, etc. After processing, the water solubility and volatile substances were significantly changed, and the pungent dryness was reduced, and the efficacy was enhanced. This paper provided a reference for the optimization of the processing technology and the processing of “syndrome” of Amomum.

    Objective

To evaluate the effect of Zuogui Wan (左归丸, ZGW) on reducing ovarian toxicity of Tripterygium glycosides (TG) and to explore its attenuated mechanism by proteomic methods.

    Methods

Thirty-two 2-month-old female SD rats with SPF grade were randomly divided into control (CON) group (10 rats) and model group (22 rats). The model group rats were given continuous intragastatic administration of TG (50 mg·kg-1·d-1) for 2 weeks to construct the ovarian injury model. The rats with successful model (20) were randomly divided into TG group and ZGW group (1.875 g·kg-1·d-1) with 10 rats in each group. The estrus cycle of the rats was measured during continuous gavage for 4 weeks. After gavage, the body weight, ovarian and uterine indexes were measured, and serum sex hormone levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological damage of ovarian tissue, and label free quantitative proteomic analysis was performed. Western Blot was used to verify the protein expression of the enrichment pathway.

    Results

ZGW could effectively regulate the estrous cycle and sex hormone level of TG-induced female rats, and significantly reduce the production of atretic follicles (P<0.000 1). Proteomics showed that compared with those in the CON group, there were 203 differential proteins in the TG group, and 28 differential proteins were significantly reduced after TG treatment. KEGG enrichment analysis involved signaling pathways such as sphingolipid biosynthesis, glycosaminoglycan degradation, degradation of other glycans and cell apoptosis. Western Blot results showed that ZGW could down-regulate the expressions of Cycs, Parp3, Bax and Caspase-3 and up-regulate the expression of Bcl-2 protein in apoptosis signaling pathway.

    Conclusion

ZGW can regulate the apoptosis signaling pathway mediated by Cycs, Parp3, Bax, Caspase-3 and Bcl-2 and plays a role in alleviating the damage of ovarian tissue caused by TG.

    Objective

To investigate the sensitization effect of traditional Chinese medicine compound Huangjing (Polygonati Rhizoma) and Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) on the anti-tumor effect of cisplatin (DDP), and further investigate its potential mechanism.

    Method

A subcutaneous tumor model of lung cancer in mice was constructed, and Huangjing (Polygonati Rhizoma) -Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (HH), DDP and HH combined DDP (HH+DDP) were administered to observe the changes in tumor volume in mice. Lewis cell lines were cultured in vitro, and the corresponding interventions were applied to detect the cell proliferation activity, apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, as well as the changes in mitochondrial membrane potential.

    Result

In vitro and in vivo results showed that the HH+DDP group significantly inhibited the growth and proliferation of LLC cell lines compared to the DDP group and HH group. After the intervention in the HH+DDP group, the ratio of apoptotic protein related proteins Bax and Bcl-2 increased, and the expression of Caspase-3 was up-regulated, promoting the apoptosis and inhibiting the tumor cell proliferation. At the same time, it was also found that the HH+DDP group had a significant inhibitory effect on nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) /inhibitor of NF-κB (IκB-α). Flow cytometry revealed higher levels of apoptosis and ROS production in the HH+DDP group. In addition, the HH+DDP group also reduced mitochondrial membrane potential and promoted the apoptosis.

    Conclusion

HH combined DDP can significantly enhance its anti-tumor sensitivity and induce apoptosis through mitochondrial related apoptosis pathways, inhibiting tumor cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo.
