    Being an important form in science popularization innovation, science show is capturing extensive attention from science and technology museums. Taking the representative case studies regarding science show designing and creation in China science and technology museum as an example, the paper principally expounds on the theme selection, the range of subjects selection, the source for creativity, the story setting, the plot setting, and the connotation of science, etc. It is concluded in the paper that the key of science show designing and creation lies in an in-depth understanding of connotation of science, the themes with scientific connotation are the crucial elements in the whole process of science show, and the respect of laws guiding art creation is an important premise ensuring the success of the science show.

    The research takes 511 science popularization policy texts at the national level as the analysis sample where the social network analysis is adopted. By the descriptive analysis of the policy subject, it is found that individual policy subject still remains the main form of issuing policy, while joint policy-releaser takes a relatively lower proportion which has presented obvious rising trend, and science popularization policy-making tends to be featured by overlapping operations by different departments. Through network analysis of issue releaser of science popularization policy-making and correlation analysis between subject and theme, the network structure of policy subject of science popularization policy presents “small group” trend. The focus of these policy subjects show overlapping features. In a nutshell, some concrete and practical suggestions are provided in the paper.

    The existing research about online reviews and audiences' satisfaction of science and technology museum are firstly discussed in this paper. According to the published online reviews of China Science and Technology Museum (CSTM) at the Public Scoring Web of www.dianping.com, the paper investigates the audiences' satisfaction evaluation after the museum was opened to the public in 2009, and the combined methods of qualitative research and quantitative research are employed. Subsequently, audiences' satisfaction factors and dissatisfaction factors about CSTM are analyzed in detail in order to explore the management and service problems in the museum. Based on the results of the case study, some measures and suggestions for improving the operation and management are put forward in the paper.

    The popularity of social media such as microblog and WeChat has lowered the threshold for information disseminators, which leads to the bad information disseminated by the new media platforms mixed up with the good, and even results in the widespread of misinformation. Taking Zhang Wuben's health preserving theory as an example, this paper investigates the dissemination process of Zhang's theory on microblog by using the methods of data mining, text analysis, and the qualitative analysis software Nvivo. Moreover, it analyses the comments of the netizens and discovers the existence of “echo chamber effect” during the transmission of such kind of misinformation, and then reveals the transmission mechanism of misinformation in the social media. This study is of certain reference value for the formulation of relevant measures to prevent the spread of misinformation.

    The Actor Network Theory not only successfully explains the dynamic mechanism of technological evolution from the interaction perspective of science and society, but also has good explanatory power for industry development issue. A case study of first privately-run science and technology museum of China by the actor network analysis shows that insufficient demand is the key factor for the development of science popularization industry. In addition, the initiator of the industrialization failed to build a stable alliance based on “common interest”, which affects the coordinated development of the supported industries in the whole industrial chain. Establishing preferential industrial policy, increasing the core enterprises of science popularization industry to intensify the capacity of network construction and partner absorption, as well as stimulating market demand contribute to the science popularization industry development.

    Media convergence development is the inevitable trend in the era of internet. As a traditional means for the popularization of science, sci-tech periodicals face the profoundly huge changes such as reading environment, reading habits and characteristics of printed journals in the era of new media. Science in 24 Hours is a professional sci-tech periodical which aims at building itself as a fine provider of science popularization resources, promoting socialization of science popularization, being partners for science education in school, and acting as participators for the development of popular science industry. Four key directions, such as the construction of popular science resources, the digital reading, the specialized service of science popularization and the extension of brand project, are clearly defined and mapped out, and the exploratory practice of media integration is actively carried out. From the angle of promoting the integration and development of the media of sci-tech periodicals, the paper puts forward the following suggestions: immense efforts shall be made to grasp the opportunity of reform, to promote the development of innovation, to focus on the professional characteristics as a non-profit public welfare, to improve the quality of periodicals, to improve awareness of brand, to deepen the integration of the content, and to expand the room for development.

    Based on 31 provincial data, the paper studies impact factors of citizens' scientific literacy based on spatial effect in China by the econometrics model. The results show that citizens' scientific literacy is not scattered randomly in geographical space in China, but has significant spatial dependence, showing very obviously spatial aggregation effect. The spatial relevance of the province area (section unit) plays an important role in strengthening regional development and people's livelihood, improving the level of scientific literacy analysis and policy-making process. Development and the livelihood have a significantly positive role in citizens' scientific literacy. Specifically, regional science and technology innovation level, ecological construction level, economic development level, the people's livelihood improvement and social development level are the factors affecting the improvement of citizens' scientific literacy by sequence. In addition, the effect of the afore-mentioned impact factors of the citizens' scientific literacy will be shown in two years. Those conclusions have a certain reference value for studying scientific literacy in China, contributing towards exploring new measures to improve citizens' scientific literacy in the future.

    It is greatly significant to make a study of the development of teenagers with scientific research potential for a reasonable cultivation of innovative talents. On the basis of the textual analysis of the applying materials of 98 finalists for the 16th Awarding Program for Future Scientists, the study has found out that there are some common influential factors impacting the growth of the teenagers with scientific research potential, and these influential factors are ranked via frequency as the following: wide interest/hobbies and challenging experience, parental educational and career background, school teachers, the regional innovative environment, instructors influence, and family atmosphere. This quantitative research study further verifies the research framework of the influential ingredients, strenghthens and explores the relevant theory and practice, which might provide reference for the Policy-making.

    This paper, taking 254 policy files promulgated by Chinese central government organs and civil associations during 2011—2015 as the research sample, explores their external features and content features. The empirical study shows that policy is a powerful means to promote the popularization of science in China. Compared with other policy-makers, China Association for Science and Technology takes the lead in policy-making, policies cover a wide range of subjects with department features, diversified policy tools have been adopted to support implementation, problems remain and need to be tackled which involves unbalanced policy distribution among policy-makers, poor adaptability to development, insufficiency of dissemination, and etc. On the basis of that, the paper proposes some suggestions for the furtherance of formulating science popularization policies, including enhancing awareness of policy-makers, strengthening coordination and cooperation, meeting needs of the times, and enriching channels of communication.

    It is very important for the children to master eye use safety knowledge and cultivate scientific eye use behavior from a young age. The paper, based on the 2016 survey, writes mainly about the popularization of children's eye use safety knowledge in Beijing. By analyzing some data selected from the survey, and taking into account how the children's eye use knowledge is popularized, the knowledge, behavior and attitude on children's eye use safety in the local area in Beijing is investigated and analyzed. The study finds that parents have a higher knowledge about children's eye use safety although there still remain some deficiencies. Parents should regularly take their children to check eyesight and learn more about how to create healthy environment for children's eye use safety. In a nutshell, the paper provides some suggestions on how to promote the popularization of children's eye use safety knowledge, hoping that the public awareness on the importance of eye use safety protection can be enhanced.
