    As an important part of postmodern literature, American postmodern science fiction implicates the unique aesthetic thought of Zen, which is significant for the interdisciplinary postmodern comparative study in China and the West. Starting from the relation between American postmodern science fiction and Zen, this article mainly analyzes the classic works, the Dune Chronicles and the Hyperion Cantos. Based on "the method of no differentiation" that belongs to the vital thinking mode of Chinese Zen aesthetic thought, it discusses the connections and distinctions between the artificial intelligence and all living things in the fiction, and then shows the dilemma of language in the light of Zen aesthetics. Meanwhile, the analyzing focus is on the path to enlightenment for all beings, revealing the true direction of the future human race, and further suggesting that the Zen aesthetics offer useful lessons for understanding the self and the other in the context of the rise of artificial intelligence. Moreover, in the post-theoretical era, the aesthetic thought of Zen, including "the method of no differentiation", as the idea that originates from China, is another example for the construction of Chinese discourse in the field of foreign literary studies.

    Alexander Belyaev was an outstanding science fiction writer in the Soviet Union, known as the "father of soviet science fiction". Many of his works depict the personal and social tragedies caused by the misuse of science and technology by "science maniacs", and on this basis, they reflect on the ethical dilemmas and identity problems faced by the "Other", conveying the idea of guiding scientific choices with a humanitarian spirit.

    The Steam Man figure was born in "Steam Engine Time" and its literary imagination first appeared in Edward Sylvester Ellis's The Steam Man of the Prairies. This image has a transitive significance in the history of Western robot narratives, partly inheriting the dystopian tradition of early European robot narratives, but also incorporating existing technology in the form of pulp fiction that launched the popular Steam Man narrative model, an exotic adventure with the invention of a boy as an element and technological optimism as its core. The Steam Man figure is the embodiment of the technological achievements of the industrial revolution and a combination of technological romance and racism in American literature after the Civil War. Its birth, appearance, gender, function, and acceptance are typical. It shows imaginative and diverse attitudes to new technologies from people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as the American public's existing understanding and future speculation about, and achievements in, robot technology.

    Based on the data from popular marine science books published in mainland China since the Opium War, it is believed that for the purposes of this study, the development of popular marine science books is classified into gestation (1840—1911), germination (1911—1949), startup and slow growth (1949—1978), recovery adjustment (1978—1998), steady development (1998—2013), and boom leap (2013—2020) . Through the analysis, it is found that the scale of book publishing in our country has been gradually expanded to cover all fields of marine science, the interdisciplinary features are becoming more and more obvious, the scope of science popularization is expanding, and the creative subjects tend to be specialized and systematized. Innovation in marine science and technology is the intrinsic driving force behind the growth of popular marine science books. The national marine science and science popularization policy play an important role in the development of popular marine science books. The international marine environment and technological environment have an external influence on popular marine science and science books.

    Andrew in the Bicentennial Man is an irrational robot with a free mind. It tries various ways of becoming a "human being", which can be divided into the social dimension approach and the technological dimension approach. From a social perspective, it seeks freedom and the right not to be harmed in the legal sense. From a technological perspective, it expands the definition of "human" by developing artificial organs and, in this way, seeks to prolong the life span of a human person, expanding the definition of "human". However, these attempts did not make it "human", because it could not dispel its fear of being human. In the end, the slow loss of electrical potential in Andrew's brain leads to its "death", which allows it to be recognized as a "human being", and death is the point where the two approaches intersect.

    This article observes the creation and publishing situation of popular science books on natural history of Chinese mainland mainly between the year 2020 and 2021. The results show that the publishing situation of such books is generally stable, original books are on the rise, children's books are developing rapidly, and some quality new books are published. The article also puts forward suggestions for improvement from the construction of material library and errata platform, support for new generation authors, and optimization of award support for the current publishing deficiencies of such books.

    In American culture, the concept of the robot has undergone changes from "Automaton" to "Robot" and then to "Cyborg", respectively mirroring the social concerns of American society in their time. The genre of "Automaton" is closely related to discussions of human-machine relations in traditional philosophy and religion and carries racial stereotypes across the American social hierarchy. The genre of "Robot" initially reflected the increasingly severe problem of technological alienation in American society at the beginning of the 20th century. Still, under the influence of American consumerism, its image was transformed from that of alienated workers to that of a metal appearance popular in contemporary science fiction. With the emergence of scientific theories such as behaviorism and cybernetics, as well as the increasing technicalization of social life, the genre of "Cyborg" became a new trend, eventually blurring the boundary between humans and machines.

    The study of popular science models falls into the category of the art of science. There is currently little related research, but it has incomparable characteristics and benefits that cannot be replaced by other methods of science communication, particularly in the display of state-of-the-art scientific technology and large scientific facilities.     XR technology is used in children's fusion books of popular science to carry out scene-based experiments at the content level, allowing young readers to gain a clearer perception and experience of relevant scientific knowledge through scene-based experiences, which is a new opportunity and breakthrough in the development of children's science fusion publications. Successful and less successful cases of XR technology in children's science fusion publications are analyzed to clarify the concept of XR. Additionally, this paper discusses the current bottlenecks and future development trends of XR technology, and clarifies the way forward for the integration of XR technology in the development of children's science fusion publications.
