This article observes the creation and publishing situation of popular science books on natural history of Chinese mainland mainly between the year 2020 and 2021. The results show that the publishing situation of such books is generally stable, original books are on the rise, children's books are developing rapidly, and some quality new books are published. The article also puts forward suggestions for improvement from the construction of material library and errata platform, support for new generation authors, and optimization of award support for the current publishing deficiencies of such books.
