    In line with the experience, the author of this paper proposes his views on children’s science popularization writing. The author believes that correctness, expressiveness and interest can be used as a guideline for writing. The subjects should be about those things which the author himself is familiar with, and which shall be in keeping with the experience of the children, and which can be explained in simple terms. The article should be written in the form of prose rather than in novel. The author does not embrace the view that science poem or science fiction can be used as a carrier of science. In the trend of putting the pictures above writing, the author should seek a feasible way to handle it.

    Military science popularization is an important part of national science communication as a whole. One of the long-term national strategic aims is to vigorously develop science communication. The paper illustrates the significance of developing military science communication, as well as its overall thought, target, pathway and support measures from angles of bolstering scientific literacy for military servicemen, and boosting combat capacity of the army. The analytical results of the paper will provide reference and guidance for making a theoretical study of military science communication and for generating opinions for decision-makers of the competent departments.

    STEM curriculum, which is gaining popularity in science and technology museums in China, finds its origin in USA, while STEM curriculum is taught principally in schools there. Currently theories and practices guiding STEM curriculum are still lacking both at home and abroad, and a majority of STEM projects in science and technology museums in China are imported from foreign counterparts, the home-made and developed exhibits are rarely seen. The so-called “universally applied” cases make people question and doubt the necessity of STEM curriculum in science and technology museums. As a matter of fact, the overwhelming number of exhibits in science and technology museums is a result of a mixture among diverse disciplines, rich both in content and fun. You can find yourselves engaged into mutual help and enlightened in real situations through real experiencing, which enables it to conjure up group constructivism. The paper firstly analyzes the background of the birth of STEM curriculum and its educational functions, secondly delves theoretically into STEM curriculum in science and technology museums by utilizing constructivism education philosophy; and thirdly expounds on the good practices adopted by science and technology museums to conduct STEM curriculum by taking Shanghai Science and Technology Museum as a study case.

    With international climate conferences successively held in Copenhagen, South Africa, Paris, the concern of “climate change” is continuously gaining momentum, and scholars carry out researches and offer suggestions from different perspectives as well. In the occidental world, science communication of climate change communication has developed into a more systematic research area and discipline after nearly 50 years, development. From that sense, how about the research conducted in that area in the past decade? How about the issues are under study and discussion? And how about the distribution areas of scholars? The study chooses the papers from the international top journals “public understanding of science” and “science communication” between 2006 and 2015, the theme is set for “science communication of climate change”. The study constructs categories from the literature type, publication year, country distribution, organization, research theme, methods and theories, co-operation, keywords and other aspects by utilizing quantitative statistical analysis, and in the paper the current situation and trend of science communication of climate change in the past decade are outlined and analyzed. Results show that academic research on climate change is changed and impacted by the heatedly-debated topics which the conferences attach great importance to, such research is not coherent and systematic. “Media” plays a decisive role in setting the framework and discourse for climate communication, interactions and impacts from multiple communicators, as well as the attitudes and behaviors of the public are the focuses which it cares about.

    At present, numerous science and technology museums embrace wait-and-see attitudes towards application of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technology. In the paper, theories and methods about museology, communication and pedagogy are applied to analyze which kind of AR products is required in science and technology museums from aspects of objectives, resources, methods and characteristics of science communication. It is proposed that VR / AR products which are based on exhibition and its educational activities, physical experience learning and inquiry learning of science and technology practice are maximum demands of science and technology museums. However, most of VR/AR products currently deviate from the above-mentioned requirements. Accordingly, development strategies of VR/AR products in science and technology museums are principally in the following aspects: take VR/AR products based on exhibition and its educational activities as “main battlefield”; take VR/AR products based on physical experience learning and inquiry learning of science and technology practice as “main direction”; find out integrating point of science and technology museum and VR/AR communication characteristics so as to “make the best of advantages and skirt disadvantages”; carry out VR/AR development according to communication objectives and communication effects; as well as make use of pedagogy and communication theory and methods to design VR/AR product elements.

    National Science Day is a big popular science event in China with significant impacts and recent years have borne witness to rapid development in its online new media application. The research summarizes the current development of official micro-blog and WeChat public account of National Science Day, analyzes their impacts as well as the impacting factors, learns experience from the official micro-blog and WeChat public account of other related activities in China and finally puts forward some suggestions. The analysis indicates that there exists a certain gap between content features and service function of official micro-blog and WeChat public account of National Science Day and other related activities. Official micro-blog and official WeChat public account play an active role in communication and promotion of this activity. The paper suggests that efforts should be made to make big popular science activities in China develop in a better manner by learning good experience and advantages of other activities.

    On the basis of the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) model and users’ characteristics and needs of network science popularization platform, the paper constructs an evaluation index system of users’ satisfaction of teens network science popularization channel. By adopting methods of SEM model and questionnaire survey, the paper conducts an empirical research on the typical young people online science popularization platform-“Enlightenment on Scientific Principle” channel, and attests to the theoretical model and research hypothesis. Research shows that network science popularization channel users’ perceived quality and perceived value have positive impacts on users’ satisfaction, whereas, positive impact of users’ expectations on satisfaction has not been verified; users’ expectations impact on perceived value is not obvious; users’ satisfaction is negatively related to users’ complaints and has a positive impact on users’ loyalty. In a nutshell, a number of suggestions for this channel are put forward based on the conclusions of the study.

    With the increasing popularity of informal learning in the 21st century, museum learning is becoming more and more important. In order to have a further understanding about the status of research on museum learning and to offer references for further studies and practices, the authors apply the Web of Science database as the data source, and use CiteSpace to analyze the literatures (2007—2016). The results reveal the focuses of the research: the value of different museums, the evaluation of learning results, the effective integration of school education and museum learning, and the application of emerging technology in an informal learning environment. The future direction of the research mainly includes: design, development, utilization of learning environment and the evaluation of digital resources; as well as the promotion of an in-depth learning based on learning science and learning how to analyze and use technology, etc.

    The image of scientists in youngsters’ minds is an important part of science communication. The image of scientists affects the youngsters’ decision concerning whether they will take science-related careers as their employment directions in the future. The issues regarding the image of scientists have already drawn wide-ranging attention from researchers both at home and abroad. Whereas, the comparative study on adolescents in different countries is still lacking. By utilizing questionnaire survey, the image of scientists in middle school students’ minds in China and the United States is comparatively studied in the paper, the findings in the research reveal that Chinese and American students still hold stereo-typed impressions and opinions about scientists. The reason why high school students in the United States are willing to become scientists is that scientists can make themselves world-renowned and naturally lead a decent-life; while middle school students in China are willing to become scientists largely owing to their parents’ expectations and the attitudes of people around them. In the eyes of middle school students in the United States, scientists are merely a profession, they want to be scientists because of their personal interests and motivations. However, Chinese students’ career choices in this regard are predominantly affected by their parents, in the eyes of their parents, scientists are superb professions, which leads their kids to pick up science-related careers as their prospective careers. In order to have the current situation changed, it calls for the impartial reporting from the mass media and the right guidance from their parents and teachers as well. Only by doing so, youngsters can have a better knowledge about scientists and the work they are undertaking, so that they can make a more sensible and balanced choice when it comes to scientist-related careers.

The Fujian Science Museum actively devotes itself to promoting the development of popular education through a host of methods such as scientific speech, handbooks or movies of scientific knowledge, and the like. The paper, mainly focusing on an analysis of construction process, organizational structure and significance of Fujian Provincial Science Museum, expounds on various scientific educational activities carried out by the Republic Fujian Science Museum, and makes a further discussion and research on the popular science education function of science museum.
