    The thesis aims at the high-quality development of science popularization venues, focuses on improving audience satisfaction. Taking China Science and Technology Museum as an example, we combine the traditional quantitative study of IPA with fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). Bases on the results of audience satisfaction survey, three ways to improve audience satisfaction are proposed: exploring the connotation of exhibits deeply, developing and promoting cultural and creative products; improving the dining environment and the cultural & leisure quality; keeping pace with the times and building brand competitiveness of science museums.

    In recent years, due to the progress of internet and mobile technology, citizen science has been rapidly developed and popularized. Citizen participation in scientific projects is becoming an emerging trend of scientific research, which is of great significance for improving citizens’ scientific literacy and promoting civic education. Based on the Web of Science core collection database, this paper carries out basic analysis on the number of annual papers and subject categories of citizen science project cases abroad from 2000 to 2019. The visualization software Citespace is used to draws the knowledge map in order to analyze the number of publications from different research institutions, authors, citations, and keyword clusters. Characteristics of the cases are found based on the analysis above. Finally, recommendations are proposed on the future of China’s citizen science project case studies, from the three aspects of research fields, institutional platform and citizen participation.

    Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. Based on the analysis of the new situation of science popularization talents team construction in China, this study discusses the new connotation and scope of science popularization talents, summarizes the characteristics of science popularization talents and the current situation of talents cultivation and existing problems, and finally puts forward some thoughts and suggestions for the team construction of science popularization talents in the new era.

    “Science” gossip is a type of frequent Internet gossip, which is apt to trigger public opinion changes. The research on the spread law of “science” gossip concerns the effectiveness of social governance and Internet public opinion governance. With all the contents on Sina Weibo platform relevant to the Top 10 science gossips released by the China Association for Science and Technology in 2019 as the research object, this paper analyzes the generation characteristics of “science” gossip in social media platform from the perspectives of relevance, repeatability and generation direction. The result shows that: “science” gossips arise from implicit post truth logic; circle communication of “science” gossip among susceptible population; and the unitary and one-way participants of science communication. Thus, the paper puts forward the logic of “science” gossip governance, namely, the governance view, the field view, the technology view and the science popularization view in the new era.

    In the COVID-19 epidemic, false scientific information spreads fast and causes great harm, which has attracted the attention of scholars. Based on the research results of re-contextualization strategies of scientific discourse, this study explores the rhetoric strategies of the anti-vaccination campaign in the United States. It improves the framework of discourse strategy analysis of science communication, and puts forward suggestions on how to reduce the dissemination of false scientific information.

    The effectiveness of science popularization in county directly determines the level of public scientific literacy within its scope. Based on interviews and surveys conducted nationwide and data obtained by web crawlers, this paper uses grounded theory to extract 11 factors that restrict the effectiveness of science popularization in county from three dimensions: macro, meso, and micro. On this basis, the ISM model is constructed to analyze the logical relationship and hierarchical structure among the various factors. The research results show that the external environment and institutional mechanisms are the root factors that restrict the effectiveness of science popularization work in counties. Among them, the policy environment and population environment are the deepest factors; personnel, venue, and channels of science popularization are the most direct factors which influenced by organization building and funding of science popularization. Based on the research conclusions, relevant suggestions to improve the effectiveness of science popularization in county are put forward.

    The construction of fire safety culture and popularization of fire science are important. Emergency science popularization museum is a main place for fire science popularization, and a scenario-based science popularization model is introduced to seven types of emergency science popularization museum in this paper. The advantages are discussed in detail and the model of scenario-based science popularization is designed according to the 5W theory of communication. It is beneficial to improving the capacity of fire emergency science popularization, and thus enhancing the fire safety literacy of the public.

    Based on the DIIS framework and the theory of communication effect, this paper proposed a theoretical model of the effect path of science communication on the cognition (reputation, association, perceived quality, trust)- attitude (satisfaction)- behavior (loyalty) of college students on scientific research institutions. Taking Chinese Academy of Sciences as an example, a questionnaire survey was adopted to collect data and a structural equation model was established to verify the theoretical model. The results showed that science communication has significant positive effects on the behavior of college students through four effect paths. According to their effect, from strong to weak, they are “science communication, perceived quality, satisfaction, loyalty”, “science communication, trust, satisfaction, loyalty”, “science communication, association, loyalty”, “science communication, association, satisfaction, loyalty”.

    This article is based on Gsdata.cn’s public opinion monitoring data on the discussion about artificial intelligence (AI) under the COVID-19 epidemic in Weibo. Text mining combined with qualitative analysis were used to analyze the public cognition and attitude to AI. AI in the areas of work resumption, epidemic monitoring, and medical applications received the most attentions. A relatively positive overall attitude was shown, mainly reflected people’s acceptance and recognition of effectiveness, accuracy and safety of AI in fighting against the epidemic. During this period, enterprises and governments are the main sources of information, publishers and objects of attention on AI issues. Discussions focused on issues such as economics, policies, and technology applications. There was relatively less content on AI ethics, governance, risks, and related scientific popularization. Therefore, we propose to encourage multiple subjects to conduct open dialogues, focusing on the issues of AI ethics, governance and risks. Science popularizers can conduct in-depth and systematic scientific dissemination around the public’s attention and personal experience during the epidemic to AI.

    Firstly, comparisons on Spinoza, Deleuze, and Masumi’s manners and essences of “affect” are made. Secondly, based on Spinoza-Deleuze-Masumi’s ontological affect theory, the main features of “Hearts-On”-the trend of contemporary science education-is theoretically explored. Hearts-on Science Education is explained by key concepts of affect theory including virtual, therapy, representation, synesthesia, becoming and subjectivity separately, and then to understand the core of science, to enjoy the joy of science, to feel the beauty of science, to experience the usefulness of science, to become aware of the responsibility of science, and to participate in the development of science. Thirdly, embodied scientific exhibitions of “Hearts-On” are found and analyzed, furthermore, their common feature of narrative is generated. Finally, the concept of “phenomenal narrative” of science center exhibition is put forward, and its theoretical as well as practical significance in science centers’ science popularization practice is discussed.
