ArchiveAs a fundamental national monitoring and evaluation research, Chinese civic scientific literacy survey has been conducted for over 20 years. This paper give a description and analysis of the general situation and main results of Chinese civic scientific literacy, the distribution of the civic scientific literacy in each provincial unit, public interest, information sources and involvement in Science and Technology (S&T), public attitudes about S&T in general and specific S&T related issues. Provide the basic data and referencesto researchers in scientific literacy related fields, and to decision-making in science and technology related departments.
Public interest, information sources and involvement of science and technology (S&T) is one ofmain factorsto improve civic scientific literacy, so it is important to make it clear how citizens get access to different media, participate in science popularization (SP) activities, visit SP fundamental infrastructures, and try to find respondent characteristic of their S&T information sources through comparative analysis. In addition, as rapid development of the internet has changed way of public access to S&T information, it is of great value to explore the suitable and effective strategy of science communication in the new situation.
It’s of great value to understand how Chinese citizens learn about and make sense of the science and technology around them, which is the one of main aims of Chinese civic scientific literacy survey. Based on the Chinese Civic Scientific Literacy Survey2015, fundamental factors were extracted by factor analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were adopted in this paper to compare thestructure, distribution, and development of public attitudes toward science and technology. The patterns and trends of Chinese public attitudes toward science and technology in general were revealed by the analysis, which provided references for understanding of relation between public, science and technology and society in Chinese context.
Being organizations which have been providing science popularization service and science and technology communication, and which belong to fundamental infrastructures, science and technology museums are important components relating to the ability of science popularization service and improving the level of civic scientific literacy. From that sense, the clarification and analysis of people’s visit to science museums in China will be helpful to guide practice. Based on the Chinese civic scientific literacy survey in 2015, compared with previous surveys and data from China Science Popularization Statistics, the paper analyzes situation, motivation, population characteristic and main factors of people’s visit to science and technology museums in China. Furthermore, the paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions regarding the construction of science and technology museums in China, all those will help deepen people’s understanding and cognition of science, and improve civic scientific literacy.
Due to the impacts of traditional concept, religious customs, cultural education, and individual characteristic, women are put in a disadvantaged status in various aspects of society. The survey of Chinese citizens’ scientific literacy in2015 indicated that scientific literacy of females is far lower than that of male. With socialization of science andtechnology, and the significant difference of citizens’ scientific literacy in gender, it not only have influenced the integralimprovement of citizens’ scientific literacy in China, but also directly affected the rights of the female to shareachievements of science and technology, which have intensifiedthe disadvantaged status of the female in the society. Thepaper analyzes the present situation and problems of the female’s scientific literacy and the reasons which affect thefemale’s scientific literacy from the view of ensuring the female having equal opportunity and raising their social status. Ina nutshell, the paper puts forward some corresponding measures such as increasing the chances of women getting theknowledge of science and technology, making greater efforts to enhance the female’s scientific literacy, narrowing thegender gap of scientific literacy, and making the female share the achievements which the development of science andtechnology have brought.

It aims to depict the distinctiveness in perception from age, gender, educational level, and geographic divergence. It also exploresto investigate the main factors that affect people’s actual knowledge on climate change, their willingness to participate in environmental activities, and the degree of involvement. Moreover, it explores the consistency of individuals’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding global climate. The paper ends by discussing the way of reporting global climate change in china and the significant role that the Chinese government and media have been playing in the formation of public views and awareness.

It intendsto depict the distinctiveness in perception from age, gender, educational level, and geographic divergence. The paper ends by discussing the importance of strengthening citizen’s perceptionstowards nuclear power.
Genetically modified (GM) foods has become an active issue of public debate in China in recent years. Based on the data of genetically modified module in the 9th Chinese civic scientific literacy survey, this paper analyzed Chinese public how to get GM information, their awareness and attitudes toward GM foods. Provided a whole picture of Chinese citizens’ attitudes and perceptions of GM foods, provide a basic reference for the future GM science communication in China.
