The characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine（TCM）“valuing syndrome and belittling disease”make the current TCM disease nomenclature lack of regularization and standardization，and gradually appear“aging”，marginalization and“westernization”. How the TCM disease nomenclature can achieve dialogue with western medicine on the basis of maintaining their own theoretical and cultural characteristics is the key to deepening the integration of TCM and western medicine as well as promoting the modernization of TCM. The project group focused on the TCM disease nomenclature of heart failure（HF），and relied on the National Terminology Committee for TCM and the Expert Committee for Cardiovascular Diseases of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of Chinese Research Hospital Association，established an expert consensus working group，systematically sorted out the connotation of the TCM disease nomenclature of HF，and conducted three rounds of expert questionnaire survey on the improved Delphi method. The expert consensus of TCM disease nomenclature of HF was preliminary achieved，aiming at promoting the theoretical and clinical research on the prevention and treatment of HF in TCM.
