To explore the clinical therapeutic effect of Mongolian medicine Anshen Buxin Liuwei Pills（安神补心六味丸）and Shugan Jieyu Capsules（舒肝解郁胶囊）on post-stroke depression.

A total of 120 patients with post-ischemic stroke depression due to liver stasis and phlegm coagulation syndrome were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group，with 60 cases in each group. On the basis of conventional treatment，the control group was treated with fluoxetine hydrochloride dispersible tablets while the observation group was treated with Anshen Buxin Liuwei Pills and Shugan Jieyu Capsules. The course of treatment for both groups was 8 weeks. The clinical treatment effects，traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）syndrome scores，Hamilton Depression Scale（HAMD）scores，Modified Edinburgh Scandinavian Survival Score（MESSS），serum levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine（5-HT），norepinephrine（NE），brain-derived neurotrophic factor（BDNF）and Brarthel index（BI）between the two groups before treatment and at the 4th and 8th week of treatment were compared.

The total effective rate of the observation group reached 93.33%（56/60）after treatment，which was significantly better than that（80.00%，48/60）of the control group（P<0.05）. The TCM syndrome scores of the patients in both groups showed a trend of significant reduction at the 4th and 8th week of treatment（P<0.05），and at the same time，it could be seen that the scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group（P<0.05）. The scores of HAMD and MESSSwere significantly lower than those before treatment（P<0.05），while the scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group（P<0.05）. In both groups，the serum levels of 5-HT，NE and BDNF were significantly higher than those before treatment at the 4th and 8th week of treatment（P<0.05），while the serum levels of 5-HT，NE and BDNF in the observation group were also higher than those in the control group（P<0.05）. BI indexes were higher than those before treatment at the 4th and 8th week of treatment in both groups（P<0.05），while BIindex in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group（P<0.05）.

Mongolian medicine Anshen Buxin Liuwei Pills combined with Shugan Jieyu Capsules can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of patients with post-ischemic stroke depression due to liver stasis and phlegm coagulation syndrome，reduce the degree of depression，promote the recovery of neurological function and increase the serum levels of 5-HT，NE and BDNF，thereby improving the quality of life and improving prognosis.
