Youbing Shiwei（Pyrrosia petiolosa），a medicinal plant belonging to the Pyrrosia genus in the family Polypodiaceae，is commonly used as a traditional Chinese medicine to treat pyelonephritis，chronic bronchitis and urinary calculi. In this paper，CNKI，PubMed，Web of Science and other databases were searched for domestic and foreign published literatures related to Youbing Shiwei（Pyrrosia petiolosa），and the chemical components and bioactivity studies of Youbing Shiwei（Pyrrosia petiolosa）in the past forty years were systematically combed and summarized. It is found that more than 100 compounds have been isolated from Youbing Shiwei（Pyrrosia petiolosa），including flavonoids，triterpenoids，lignins，phenols and others. The extract of Youbing Shiwei（Pyrrosia petiolosa）has significant bioactivities，such as anti-oxidation，anti-bacterial，anti-inflammatory，diuretic，promote wound healing，anti-kidney stones and anti-diabetes effects. This paper can provide theoretical reference and scientific basis for further systematic research and clinical development of Youbing Shiwei（Pyrrosia petiolosa）medicinal resources.
