Baijiangcao（Herba patriniae）is a traditional Chinese medicine in China，with a history of thousands of years，a variety of chemical components and a wide range of pharmacological effects，including phenylpropanoids，coumarins，flavonoids，terpenoids，steroids，alkaloids and organic acids. Modern studies have shown that it has pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory，antibacterial，antiviral，antioxidant and anti-tumor effects. Based on the concept of quality marker（Q-Marker），this paper summarized and analyzed the Q-Marker from plant genelogy and chemical composition specificity，traditional efficacy and medicinal properties，new efficacy，different origins，compound compatibility，chemical composition measurability and chemical composition traceability，in order to provide a basis for the establishment of a comprehensive and scientific quality control system of Q-Marker.
