To explore the influence of Modified Shaoyao Gancao Decoction（加味芍药甘草汤）combined with estradiol valerate tablets in the treatment of mild intrauterine adhesion（IUA）on microinflammatory state and sex hormones levels.

A total of 92 patients with mild IUA as the research subjects. According to the random number method，they were divided into control group and observation group，with 46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with estradiol valerate tablets，while the observation group was given Modified Shaoyao Gancao Decoction on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy，TCM syndrome scores，uterine examination indexes（endometrial thickness，endometrial volume），hemodynamic indexes［endometrial spiral artery resistance index（RI），pulsatility index（PI）］，matrix metalloproteinase（MMP）-2，MMP-3，MMP-9，inflammatory factors［transforming growth factor（TGF）-β1，tumor necrosis factor（TNF）-α，interleukin（IL）-6］and sex hormones［estradiol（E₂），luteinizing hormone（LH）］before and after treatment were compared between both groups.

After treatment，the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group（P<0.05）. The TCM syndrome scores and levels of TGF-β1，TNF-α，IL-6 and LH in both groups were decreased，and the decreases in the observation group were higher than those in the control group（all P<0.05）. The endometrial thickness，endometrial volume，PI，RI and levels of MMP-2，MMP-3，MMP-9，E₂ and LH were increased in the two groups，and the increases were higher in the observation group than those in the control group（all P<0.05）.

Modified Shaoyao Gancao Decoction combined with estradiol valerate tablets can effectively improve the clinical symptoms，uterine morphology and hemodynamic indexes in the treatment of mild IUA，and it has exact efficacy，and the role mechanism is related to the regulations of expressions of matrix metalloproteinases，inflammatory factors and sex hormones.
