Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world. Its morbidity and mortality ranks are on the top in all cancers. It has greatly threatened human’s life and health. Traditional Chinese medicines are widely used in the treatment of cancers including lung cancer, because of their confirmed curative effects. Huaier（Vanderbylia robiniophila）has a long history of medication and is widely used in the field of cancer. Pharmacological studies have shown that in the treatment of lung cancer, the mechanisms of Huaier（Vanderbylia robiniophila）including inhibiting cell proliferation, promoting cell apoptosis and pyroptosis, inhibiting lung cancer cell invasion and migration, anti-tumor angiogenesis, reversing drug resistance and enhancing immune function. This article reviewed the mechanism of action of Huaier（Vanderbylia robiniophila）in treating lung cancer by searching the relevant literature from domestic and foreign databases, in order to provide more theoretical basis for its clinical application.
