As a common traditional Chinese herbal medicine in clinic, Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis) has a long history of drug use, which has the functions of extinguishing wind and calming fright, clearing heat and calming liver. Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis) mainly acts on the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, and has pharmacological effects such as lowering blood pressure, protecting the central nervous system, anti-depression and anxiety, regulating intestinal flora. Common drug pairs are Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Xiakucao (Prunellae Spica), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Luobumɑye (Apocyni Veneti Folium), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis)-Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex) and so on. The curative effect of single Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus Cum Uncis) is exact, and the combination with other drugs can not only enhance the curative effect, but also expand the therapeutic range.
