Yigong San (异功散) is from Xiaoer Yaozheng Zhijue and is used in treating children with deficiency of Qi in the spleen and stomach, or complicated with Qi stagnation. Modern research has shown that Yigong San has the pharmacological effects of regulating gastrointestinal motility, enhancing immune function, anti-tumor, anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation and regulating intestinal flora. Its clinical applications include pediatric dyspepsia, pediatric diarrhea, bronchial asthma and chronic anemia. This paper systematically summarized the chemical composition, pharmacological effects and clinical application of Yigong San, and predicted its quality markers (Q-Markers) based on the “five principles” of traditional Chinese medicines, among which ginsenosides Rg1, Re, Rb1, atractylenolide Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, pachymic acid, polyporenic acid C, dehydrotumulosic acid, hesperidin, glycyrrhizic acid, glycyrrhetinic acid, liquirtin, 6-gingerol, betulinic acid and other components can be used as the Q-Markers for Yigong San, aiming to provide a good solution for Yigong San.
