To study the curative effect of Sangma Xingbei Decoction combined with budesonide and ipratropium bromide on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease（AECOPD）and its influence on lung function and inflammatory factors.
A hundred patients with AECOPD admitted to the hospital from February 2022 to January 2024 were randomly divided into 50 control groups and 50 treatment group. The control group was treated with budesonide and ipratropium bromide, while the treatment group was treated with Sangma Xingbei Decoction based on the control group. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores（cough, expectoration, wheezing and shortness of breath）, lung function［forced vital capacity（FVC）, forced expiratory volume in the first second（FEV1）, FEV1/FVC］and inflammatory factors（tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-8 and interleukin-6）before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.
The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group（P < 0.05）. After 2 weeks of treatment, the scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores and inflammatory factors in the two groups decreased, and the above indexes in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group, the levels of pulmonary function indexes in both groups increased, and the above indexes in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group（P < 0.05）.
Sangma Xingbei Decoction combined with budesonide and ipratropium bromide can improve the curative effect of patients with AECOPD, and has more advantages in improving lung function and reducing inflammatory reaction.
