The theory of liver and kidney from the same source can be traced back to the Yellow Emperor＇s Inner Canon，and later generations of medical practitioners have enriched its clinical applications.The concept of liver and kidney from the same source adheres to the holistic view of the five Zang-Fu organs in traditional Chinese medicine，based on the principle of mutual promotion between wood and water and explains numerous diseases related to aging and deficiency.This has extremely high guiding value for the diagnosis and treatment of elderly patients with osteoporosis accompanied by abnormal blood lipids.This paper used the method of analysis and synthesis，combined with the analogy thinking mode，to explore the relationship between the theory of liver and kidney from the same source and the liver-bone axis and osteoporosis with dyslipidemia，and expounded the relationship between liver and bone in traditional Chinese medicine and modern research.The liver-bone axis may be a further development of the theory of liver and kidney from the same source and can improve the theory of liver and kidney from the same source and deduce the concept of“liver and kidney from the same source”，contributing to the basic research and clinical practice of elderly osteoporosis with dyslipidemia.
