Vertigo，as a comprehensive symptom，widely exists in a variety of clinical diseases.Its incidence is increasing year by year，seriously affecting the physical and mental health and quality of life of patients.Therefore，it is of great significance to explore and study formulae that can effectively treat vertigo.As a valuable crystallization of ZHANG Zhongjing＇s clinical practice，classic formulae are characterized by rigorous compounding and precise use of medicines，which show unique advantages in the treatment of vertigo.Through reviewing the literature，this paper summarized and concluded the progress of clinical research and mechanism study on the treatment of vertigo with classic formulae such as Linggui Jiugan Decoction（苓桂术甘汤），Wuling Powder（五苓散），Zexie Decoction（泽泻汤），Xiaochaihu Decoction（小柴胡汤）and Wuzhu Decoction（吴茱萸汤）at the recent stage，and combined with the discriminative ideas of ZHANGZhongjing in treating the disease，with the aim of providing ideas for the clinical treatment of vertigo and supporting its broader study.
