To explore the mechanism of Yangxue Qingnao Granules（养血清脑颗粒）combined with Qiangli Dingxuan Tablets（强力定眩片）in treating dizziness and headache caused by hypertension.

A total of 200 patients with hypertension，dizziness and headache were selected.The participants were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group using a random coding table，with 100 patients in each group.The control group received routine treatment，while the experimental group received Yangxue Qingnao Granules combined with Qiangli Dingxuan Tablets on the basis of the control group.Both groups were treated continuously for 4 weeks.The cognitive function，clinical efficacy，blood pressure control，improvement of dizziness and headache symptoms，serum levels of C-reactive protein（CRP），homocysteine（Hcy），vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF），arterial blood flow velocity and complications were compared between the two groups.

After treatment，the MMSE and MoCA scores of the two groups increased（P<0.05）. Compared with the control group，the experimental group had higher MMSE and MoCA scores（P<0.05）. Compared with that of the control group，the total effective rate of the experimental group was higher（P<0.05）.The scores of the quality of life of two groups increased（P<0.05）. Compared with that of the control group，the score of the quality of life of the experimental group was higher（P<0.05）.The systolic and diastolic blood pressures of two groups decreased（P<0.05）. Compared with the control group，the experimental group had lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure，and shorter improvement time for dizziness and headache（P<0.05）.The levels of CRP and Hcy decreased and VEGF levels increased in both groups（P<0.05）. Compared with the control group，the experimental group had lower levels of CRP and Hcy，and higher VEGF levels（P<0.05）.The average blood flow velocity of left vertebral artery（LVA），right vertebral artery（RVA）and basilar artery（BA）in the two groups increased（P<0.05）. Compared with those of the control group，the average blood flow velocity of LVA，RVA and BA in the experimental group was faster（P<0.05）. Compared with the control group，there was no significant difference in the incidence of complications in the experimental group（P>0.05）.

The combination of Yangxue Qingnao Granules and Qiangli Dingxuan Tablets can effectively improve the effect of blood pressure control，improve the dizziness and headache symptoms caused by hypertension，and improve the quality of life of patients.The mechanism may be closely related to the regulation of CRP，Hcy and VEGF levels and arterial blood flow velocity，which is suitable for clinical application and promotion.
