To study the effect of acupuncture therapy based on the theory of five movements and six Qi on glaucoma intraocular pressure control and optic nerve function repair.
A total of 140 patients with glaucoma who were treated in the hospital from January to December 2022 were randomly divided into two groups，with 70 patients in each group.The patients in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine.On the basis of the control group，the patients in the observation group were treated with acupuncture therapy based on the theory of five movements and six Qi.After 4 weeks of treatment，the treatment efficiency，intraocular pressure，visual field index［mean defect（MD），mean light sensitivity（MS），loss variance（LV）］，optic nerve index［amplitude and latency of pattern visual evoked potential（P-VEP）］and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
The total effective rate of the observation group was97.14%，which was significantly higher than that of the control group（87.14%），and the difference between the groups was statistically significant（P<0.05）.After treatment，the intraocular pressure of the two groups decreased significantly（P<0.05），and the intraocular pressure of the observation group was lower than that of the control group（P<0.05）.After treatment，the value of MSin the two groups was signifi-cantly increased，while the values of MD and LV were significantly decreased，and the difference was statistically significant compared with those before treatment（P<0.05）.After treatment，the value of MSin the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group，the values of MD and LV were significantly lower than those in the control group，and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant（P<0.05）.After treatment，the amplitude of P-VEPin the two groups was increased，and the latency of P-VEP was shortened，and the difference was statistically significant compared with that before treatment（P<0.05）.After treatment，the amplitude of P-VEPin the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group，and the latency of P-VEPwas significantly shorter than that in the control group，the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.The incidences of adverse reactions in the observation group and the control group were 8.57% and 5.71%，respectively and the difference was not statistically significant（P>0.05）.The symptoms of adverse reactions could be relieved by themselves.
The acupuncture therapy based on the theory of five movements and six Qi is applied to glaucoma patients with satisfactory results.It can better control intraocular pressure and repair optic nerve function.It is a safe and effective treatment plan and is worthy of reference and application.
