    The informatization is the direction of the effort in science popularization in new era. It refers to the change not only in the technological method and channel of science popularization, but also in the concept and model of science popularization. This paper presents the connotation of informatization in science popularization (ISP) in 3 dimensions, which relates to the knowledge management and the informatization in education to some extent. In terms of practice, ISP in China includes the digitalization period, networking period and intelligentization period. The three periods have their starting points, and they still continue the development. ISP is of great importance in promoting the construction of knowledge society and creating the ambient of scientific culture in the society. The measurement of ISP is the effective guarantee to promote the work process and achieve the ultimate goal.

    An evaluation method of science popularization level of new energy based on AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution) is proposed in this paper. 6 first-level evaluation indexes including science popularization personnel, science popularization space, science popularization venues, science popularization media, science popularization activities and science popularization influence are selected to construct an evaluation index system for science popularization level which includes 22 second-level indexes. AHP is used to confirm the weight of each evaluation index, TOPSIS is applied for assessment and calculation, and the evaluation results are given in accordance with relative closeness. To verify effectiveness of this method, the operation data of 5 new energy science popularization bases are collected, and the sorting result of science popularization level of new energy is provided.

    Although science popularization pays attention on the science reading, the science education, which proposes science inquiry as an important way for science popularization, always neglects science reading. The main reason is that science education pays less attention on science reading and that there is few strategies for reading science textbooks. The purpose of this article is to provide theory and practice guidance of science reading in science education and to promote the development of method of science education by introducing the results: VOC strategy can help learners master science concepts and acquire the knowledge. It will explain and reveal the value of science reading and the effect of VOC strategy.

    Based on nearly 400 papers retrieved from Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) database, we systematically review worldwide research on social and psychological factors leading to the public resistance to genetically modified (GM) crops and foods. This paper points out that during the process to communicate GM crops to the public, scientists neglect the public concerns and there is a gap between scientific communication and public and media communication. Knowledge has played a limited role in forming the public attitude to GM foods, and public has a low trust in public institutions. All these factors lead to the public rejection to GM crops and foods. Based on the systematic review, this paper suggests possible research routes and approaches for Chinese science communication researchers to understand and solve GMO and similar scientific controversies.

    Popular Science TV column is one of the main channels for people obtaining scientific knowledge, and attaches great importance by the government. With the pace of informationization, more and more information technology was used in TV field, and the TV programs have lots of advantages in science communication filed. However, under the background of informationization, TV has some disadvantages, for example, the low degree of media convergence, the weak relevance of column's form and informationization, and the lack of audience subdivision. In this paper, some research methods which are field research, interviews and case study are used to explore the innovative models of the outstanding popular science TV columns home and abroad, and we are looking forward to providing references and suggestions for the development of China's popular science TV columns.

    This article explored the influence and strategy of social media to science communication modes, taking the issue of PM2.5 diffusion on social media as an example. It found the influence is manifested in user participating content production of science communication, community network of diffusion routes, uncertainty of communication and self-clarification of rumors. It also proposed strategies of transforming discourse of science information, aggregating science network communities, fostering science communication opinion leaders.

    The primary and middle school students' image of scientists is a part of cognition about science, which has effects on the students' willingness to be scientists in the future. By comparing the primary and middle school students' image of scientists, the article examines the impact which scientific education and media has made on the communication of the scientists' images. Also, this article shows different understanding of science, different level of admiration to scientists, different cognition of scientists' social status, different positive and negative image of scientists, different impact on their future career attitude on different age students. Meanwhile this article puts forward some suggestions to the relationship between science communication and scientists' image.

    In science communication, new media is an important intermediary, discourse is the realization carrier and affinity is the important “emotional intelligence”, which is also considered as the core of communication arts. Affinity is used as an “adhesive” to shorten the distance between public and science, directly related to the effects of scientific communication. New media reflects its complex, open and dynamic contextual characteristics. The paper focused on close and complicated relationship between new media, science communication, discourse and affinity to study how to strengthen the vitality and effectiveness in science communication. The concept of “virtual context of new media technology” is provided in this essay for the first time, in which discourse was discussed on the affinity construction in science communication.

    Based on the analysis of a national-wide sampling survey, this paper explores the impact of the internet-based new media on the public image of Chinese scientists. The results show that the importance of TV as a source of S&T information is descending, while the importance of internet is ascending rapidly. The rapid development of internet brings both benefits and challenges for building up a “good” public image of Chinese scientists. For instance, compared with people taking TV as the most important information source, those taking internet as the most important information source have significantly a less stereotypical, while more negative, image of scientists.
