In this paper, the initial publication of the chemical structure of artemisinin on Chinese Science Bulletin (1977), as well as the disclosure of its antimalarial efficacy and R&D process on Guangming Daily (1978) are documented, and both events have revealed the contribution of Tu Youyou and the Institute of Chinese Medicine of Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the identification and structure determination of artemisinin. The author argues that the disclosure of the particular details in artemisinin's antimalarial research actually did not bring any disadvantages to the invention patent application of artemisinin; instead, it has played a certain role to make Tu Youyou, a 2015 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine.

This paper established evaluation indicator system the regional science popularization ability based on the basic conception and high-frequency indicators in reference, verifies the influence relationship in evaluation indicator system by SEM and measures the ability of regional science popularization and technological competitiveness by factor analysis method in year 2012, and compares matching degree of the ability of regional science popularization and technological comp-etitiveness. The conclusions may contribute to the assessment and policy making with respect to the system of science popularization. In the final analysis, some corresponding suggestions are proposed in the paper.

The primary purpose of this paper is to build up an evaluation system of the popular science books based on an publication-funded project in Beijing. The methods adopted in this paper include documentation, analysis, statistics and empirical investigation. It is included 4 first-class index in the evaluation system: science, social impact, level of creation and publishing quality, as well as 13 second-class index such as knowledgeable, originality, popularity, error rate of editing & proofreading and total circulation. The evaluation system functions quite well after being applied to the assessment of the popular science books funded by Beijing municipal government in recent years. It also discusses the existing problems and puts forward some advice for its improvement.

In order to gain an insight into what the NYTimes' attitude was and the way how it had organized the coverage on acupuncture during the past 40 years, content analysis and framing analysis have been adopted to identify the main sources of news, subjects, and reporting frames. Results demonstrate that the NYTimes' reports about acupuncture had been related to the patient and western doctors, whose opinions had contributed to 50% for each other among the 9 main sources. Besides, the topic of the medical function of acupuncture had been beyond half among all topics, and doctors from western countries paid great heed to effeteness. We find that the frame of progress presupposition had been widely used, which was more than half. In addition, the reports which had made use of the frame of progress presupposition and focused on western doctors was 64.2% with patients being 83.3%. This fact tells us that a majority of doctors and patients are in support of acupuncture. However, that different topics that doctors and patients were concerned about made their reports covered in different styles.

Based on making a study of science popularization cases from China and foreign countries, the paper tries to make a detailed and in-depth illustration of the report entitled Guidebook on the Communication between Scientists and Mass Media from following aspects such as the communication between scientists and mass media, how scientists display and share research achievements to the public, as well as scientists' need to take psychological traits of the public for reference when discussing science risks. In light of that, the paper puts forward 3 suggestions for scientists in China in terms of how they are involved in science popularization work. 1. Scientists need to consider fully the role of mass media when they get involved in science popularization; 2. Scientists need to communicate with the public in an easily understandable, responsible, prudent and precise manner; 3. Scientists need to expound on the risks and returns coming from their researches in a prudent and careful manner.

As a supplementary venues used for learning things, the field trip pathways serve as an important role for the audience to understand resources and to use them effectively in museum learning. It has been widely used in the related foreign countries for a long time. After long-term development, practice and revise, the field trip pathway in western science centers has formed mature design ideas. The audiences' feedback is also positive. It's a good reference for the development of science centers in China. The author tries to explore the law governing these pathways, by taking one example in USA, it tries to analyze the design intent, content structure, education ideas and function there, and eventually provide theoretical basis for the development of science centers in China.

The so-called “Gruel Science Fiction” (softer than soft science fiction) initiated by Xia Jia is mainly characterized by its newfangled and baroque narrative style, intertexuality narration serves as the the starting point for her creation work. Her famous fiction “the Bottle Imprisoning the Goblin” illustrates a story where Maxwell (a physicist) succeeds in defeating the goblin by using an experiment, the narration embodied in the fiction is both full of humor and of interest, where we can sense the author's confidence and veneration towards the scientific exploration spirit from the human-beings. Based on the intertextuality narration of “ Tales from A thousand and One Night” and “ Faust”, the fiction succeeds in transforming a grand tragedy in which intellectuals try to explore the scientific and humanistic spirit into an entertaining and humorous folk tale.

With the booming development of Science & Technology Museum, the need to publicize popular science education has become more important than ever before. Meanwhile, the key point of the reforming of Chinese public school education is shifting towards quality-oriented education and an all-round development for our students. Because of those, many Science & Technology Museums across the nation are initiating cooperation with public schools, at the same time, sharing each other's resources. This thesis will expound on its history, background, reference, mechanism, experience, and enlightenment regarding the cooperation between the Qinghai Science & Technology Museum and her nearby schools. The thesis will also seek ways on how the Museum-School cooperative framework can be further improved so that a long-term and effective cooperation mode can be thus built.
