ArchiveIn its broad sense, popular scientific knowledge could be divided into three levels, namely, the core layer, the intermediate layer and the peripheral layer. The core layer refers to the simplified scientific knowledge under a philosophy of “academic science”, complying with Merton's CUDOS Criterion. The intermediate layer represents post-academic scientific knowledge which is combined with manufacture and real life, complying with Ziman's PLACE Criterion. And the peripheral layer, is living scientific knowledge which is combined with society and culture, complying with Zeng Guoping's BASIC order. Each level has different characteristics by purpose, philosophy, content, pattern, physical performance and other aspects. There are no absolute boundaries among the three levels from the core to the periphery, but there is an obvious trend from “pure” basic scientific knowledge to culture-penetrated scientific knowledge. Detailed segmentation and deep analysis of popular scientific knowledge may provide science popularization work with theoretical implications.
In knowledge economy age, function and value of science popularization became clear, and so the people's scientific literacy gradually acpuire promoting by science popularization. The paper dissertrates the important function of scientific thoughts focusing on rational for the construction of base about social commom trust, under the circumstances of that disembodying mechanism suffering assualt. And the paper think that science popularization not only popularize knowledge, but also, more importantly, forster scientific rational thought and improve public science literacy on it's basis, with the help of study on reflective application of science popularization in disembodying mechanism theory.
Talents are the most important resource in the development of popular science industry, while the shortage of talents has became a bottleneck to its development. Scientific community, as an innovative talent group, who masters abundant knowledge and engage in the research and management of science and technology, should play important roles and have great effects in popular science industry. Generally speaking, scientific community mainly plays two roles which include the role of participating (creator of knowledge content, innovator of technological means and policy makers) and the role of sustainability (communicator of consensus, transporter of talents and distributor of resource); in addition, two kind of effects, which are correspondingly performed by the roles, include constructive effect (leading innovations of popular science in three areas: content, form and institution) and affordable effect (shifting traditional attitudes, supplying new-type talents and opening market corporation).
As the development of the educational function of the world science centers deeply influenced by the evolution of the social and educational environment, it's important to comprehend the evolution of the education function of the science centers in the whole history of the society and education development. This paper systematically researches on the three stages of the social background and educational reform ideas during the establishment of the world science centers. Based on it, the author tries to explore the impaction and the regulation of the different education ideological on the evolution of the education function of the science centers, to provide theoretical basis for the development of chinese science centers.

The concepts of public scientific literacy and scientists' media literacy are intimated and inseparable in the context of dialog model in science communication. To achieve the efficient dialog between the public and science, not only improving public scientific literacy needed to be concerned, but also should we focus on the improvement of scientists' media literacy. In recent years, there are a lot of programs being carried out in UK, which are designed to improve the media literacy of scientists and to promote the dialogue between scientists and media, the public. Firstly, the meaning of the scientists' media literacy is discussed in this paper. Then through the analysis of the programs to improve scientists’ media literacy in Britain, some good enlightenment can be obtained for similar programs in China.
In this article, the science communication talents cultivation goals and curriculum settings in high education institutions are studied and compared between Japan and China. The study framework is composed of “why we communicate”, “what to communicate” and “how to communicate”. Compared to Japan, science communication educational goals in China are not well focused, there is lacking of systematical approach towards curriculum development about “how to communicate”. Although the majority of curriculum settings are primarily on the theoretical aspect, there is no corresponding in depth curriculum about “why we communicate” and “what to communicate”. All of these reflect insufficient knowledge and study about science communication among education community, science and technology community and the media.
The civic scientific literacy construction relies on the science popularization professional team construction. The development of science popularization requires support from human resources. This paper analyzes the needs of science popularization professionals, try to use the Systems Theory to design an science popularization professionals training system.
According to the hot issues of science communication on air quality triggered by PM2.5 at the end of 2011, focus group is adapted to research the interviewees' selection bias and the reasons on providing variety of materials and taking the media controversy questions as focuses of the discussion, for analyzing the awareness and communicating effect of mass media's publicity and influencing factors. The communication effect is influenced by the factors of disciplinary backgrounds, education, habits and forms of access to media, credibility of information source and opinion leader, environmental awareness and environment. Based on research results, we give some suggestions on science popularization in the scientific mode of transmission, the use of opinion leaders and the forms of propagation.
Nowadays, the new rural science popularization self-organization is of greater importance and has developed increasingly. Generally speaking, there exist four modes in the rural minority areas: “Branch + Association + Role model + Farmers”, “Company + Base + Farmers + Association”, “Pioneers + Association + Base + Farmers” and “Party Members + Base + Farmers”. They aim to achieve prosperity and benefit the farmers. In the future, the self-organization in the rural minority areas, will have both institutional capital self-organization and social capital self-organization and sees a diversified development trend.
It is important to improve women's scientific literacy. This paper ananlyzes the current status of women's participation in science popularization based on the survey done in the village of Wei Xian, Hebei Province. It discusses some existing problems and puts forward some suggestions.
