Latest ArticlesThe European New Car Assessment Programme published 118 test results of vehicle models for a total in the past three years from 2020 to 2022. In order to accurately benchmark the safety performance of export vehicle models with the overall safety technology level of European market models, the overall ratings of all vehicle models, the distribution and regularity of results for different power types and vehicle types are summarized. A detailed analysis is conducted on the scores and characteristics of different fields, such as adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, rescue, and passive safety configuration for five-star vehicles. The main analysis results indicate that the overall safety level of vehicles in the European market is relatively high, with 75% of the tested models achieving five-star performance. The proportion of new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles achieving five-star performance is basically the same. The type of vehicle, the size of vehicle space, and the optional safety features have a certain influence to the score, and the central airbag contributing the most to the scoring rate.

A software system for automated OTA testing based on the simulation testing platform was designed, it elaborated on the system structure and implementation principle of the testing platform, and the testing platform built by the testing cabinet achieves component flashing testing, system integration testing, and vehicle simulation testing of the testing platform. The test results of the testing platform verified that the system meets the design requirements. The use of the testing platform can shorten the research and development cycle, reduce research and development costs, and improve testing accuracy.
A Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach has been proposed to construct a human-vehicle takeover requirement model, aiming to achieve complex functionality requirement management. This paper takes the human-vehicle takeover function application scenario as a use case, where the driver and the vehicle are considered as the main elements in accomplishing tasks together. The interaction capability is derived by combining the psychological, perceptual, and behavioral characteristics of humans in takeover tasks. Activity and sequence diagrams are established according to the takeover process, and a Systems Modeling Language (SysML) model tool is used for system capability allocation and system model establishment. The effectiveness and feasibility of this method have been verified through a case study and a comparison with traditional requirement analysis method has been conducted to demonstrate the advantages of this approach in managing complex functionality requirements.
Lateral stability is very important for driving of Electric Vehicles (EV). In order to reduce the risk of oversteering and understeering instability of 4WD EV, based on ISO 26262, the hazard analysis and risk assessment of the lateral stability control function of centralized 4WD EVs were carried out, and the safety goals of the lateral stability control function were determined. The co-simulation analysis of CarSim and MATLAB/Simulink was conducted, which proved that the stability control functional safety requirements are satisfied by safety goals determined. The research results show that the stability control functional safety level of 4WD EVs should be developed according to ASIL D, which can avoid hazards of understeering and oversteering for 4WD EVs, the research results can support the design of lateral stability control function and safety mechanism for 4WD EVs.
The Intelligent Vehicle Cyber-Physical System (IVCPS) can control the operation trajectory of vehicles based on road and vehicle information resources in real time, which has great potential in reducing vehicle energy consumption. However, the current studies on Cloud-Based Predictive Cruise Control (CPCC) architecture ignore the feasibility of architecture implementation and application, without verifing the rationality of the architecture. To establish the links among architecture, application and verification, promote multi-domain and multi-disciplinary collaborative design, joint simulation as well as system integration in IVCPS, this paper proposes the modeling method of IVCPS based on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Firstly, the overall layered architecture of IVCPS is constructed and the elements of each layer of the architecture are clarified. Then Systems Modeling Language (SysML) is utilized as the modeling tool and the Requirement analysis-Functional analysis-Logical analysis-Parametric calibration (RFLP) modeling framework is constructed. Finally, a typical scenario of CPCC system within IVCPS is taken as an example. The RFLP framework is utilized to model and analyze the requirements, functions, logics and parametric calibration of the CPCC system. The modeling results prove that MBSE can realize the unified modeling of the requirement analysis, function decomposition, logical architecture design and system parameter calibration of the CPCC system, promote simulation verification of the theoretical architecture of the CPCC system and be able to test and analyze the effectiveness of the CPCC architecture in optimizing the running trajectory and reducing fuel consumption of intelligent connected vehicles. This study lays a foundation for improving the interactivity, reusability and compatibility of IVCPS system modeling.
In order to meet the goal of carbon neutrality, diversified development is required. In addition to adopting electrification and fuel cell technology, it is also necessary to develop zero-carbon or low-carbon fuel Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to meet the needs of different application scenarios. Ammonia, as a zero-carbon fuel and hydrogen carrier, has received increasing attention in the era of carbon neutrality. Many research institutions and universities have carried out research on ammonia as a fuel for ICE in the past 20 years. This review analyzes the feasible methods of ammonia application in ICEs based on a brief summary of the combustion characteristics and combustion mechanisms of ammonia and mixed fuels with other fuels, proposes new characteristics of ammonia ICEs compared to fossil fuel ICE and the key technologies that need to be addressed in future applications. The existing research shows that using high active fuels to ignite ammonia fuel is a feasible technical solution for ICEs. For Spark Ignition Internal Combustion Engine (SI-ICE), gasoline, natural gas and hydrogen can be used for ignition. Compared with traditional gasoline engines, gaseous ammonia reduces the power performance of the SI-ICE without changing the engine structure, while increasing the emissions of NOx and unburned NH3. For Compression Ignition Internal Combustion Engines (CI-ICE), low auto-ignition temperature fuels such as diesel and Dimethyl Ether (DME) can be used for ignition. Compared with pure diesel or DME ICE, the power performance of ammonia ICE decreases and emissions are related to the fuel mixture ratio. Among all ignition fuels, hydrogen fuel has the greatest potential for improving combustion and is zero-carbon emissions. Therefore, ammonia-hydrogen fusion engines are very competitive zero-carbon power in the era of carbon neutrality. Finally, there are some problems that need to be solved for the future application of ammonia-hydrogen mixed fuel, including the development of dedicated ammonia injection systems, suitable post-treatment systems and on-board ammonia cracking systems.
