Since the return to China of Macao, the scientific and technological cooperation between Macao and the Mainland has gone through the stages of the spontaneous cooperation, policy, and the comprehensive cooperation, forming an increasingly close cooperative relationship, which has provided an important driving force for their respective prosperity and development. This paper reviews the characteristics of the two sides' scientific and technological cooperation and the challenges of in-depth cooperation in the 20th anniversary of the return of Macau. Some forward-looking suggestions are made on scientific and technological cooperation between the two places, such as integrating into the overall entity of the Guangdong-Hong KongMacao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Center, optimizing the environment of scientific and technological innovation, facilitating the leverage of the advantages of the "China-Portugal Platform" to accelerate the international transfer of scientific and technological achievements, encouraging Macao youth to start business in the North to promote the development of the integration of science and technology between the two places for working together to build an innovative country.
