In this paper, the characteristics and radiation shielding mechanisms of γ ray and neutron are introduced. The latest research development of epoxy resin based composites for γ ray shielding, neutron shielding and γ -ray/neutron shielding are then reviewed. Finally, the future development and challenges of epoxy resin based radiation shielding composites are prospected.
