This paper reviews the decision-making consultation work of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), especially, the construction of the think tank for the science and technology innovation since the 18th CPC National Congress, or, the ninth National Congress of the CAST, as well as some successful experiences and typical practices. Based on the principle of "developing through inheritance and innovating through development", the future decision-making and consulting work of the CAST is prospected. This work is of certain reference value fur the decision-making and consulting work of the science and technology association system and other mass organizations and the construction of the innovative think tank.
