    Objective

To construct an intervention protocol combining exercise and compression therapy for chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN) in breast cancer patients and to analyze its application effects.

    Methods

Patients receiving chemotherapy in 3 wards of the breast surgery department at a tertiary grade A hospital in Henan Province were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling from November 2022 to September 2023.Based on admission time and a lottery method, breast cancer patients were divided into control group, exercise group, compression group, and combination group.Based on the health action process approach(HAPA) theory,an intervention protocol combining exercise and compression therapy for CIPN in breast cancer patients was constructed through literature review,semi-structured interviews, and Delphi expert consultation. The control group received routine nursing care in the breast surgery department. The exercise group, compression group, and combination group respectively implemented the exercise therapy, compression therapy, and combined exercise and compression therapy intervention protocols in addition to routine nursing care. The incidence and severity of CIPN,CIPN symptom experience, impact on daily life, and balance function were compared among the 4 groups after 4 chemotherapy cycles.

    Results

During the study,10 patients dropped out, resulting in 33 patients each in the control and compression groups, and 32 patients each in the exercise and combination groups. After the intervention, there were statistically significant differences in terms of incidence and severity of sensory and motor neuropathy as well as the fall risk rate among patients in 4 groups(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the compression group and the combination group showed statistically significant differences in terms of incidence and severity of sensory and motor neuropathy as well as the fall risk rate among patients(all P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in terms of incidence and severity of sensory and motor neuropathy as well as the fall risk rate among patients in 4 groups(all P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in terms of total scores and subscale scores of the Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy Assessment Tool among the 4 groups after the intervention(all P<0.05).Statistically significant differences were found in the pairwise comparisons of total scores and subscale scores of the Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy Assessment Tool among the 4 groups(all P<0.05).

    Conclusions

Both compression therapy and the combination of exercise and compression therapy could reduce the incidence and severity of CIPN in breast cancer patients. Both compression therapy and the combination of exercise and compression therapy could also improve balance function,CIPN symptom experience, and the impact of CIPN on daily life in breast cancer patients. Moreover, the combination of exercise and compression therapy is more effective than either single therapy in improving CIPN symptom experience and its impact on daily life of patients.

    Objective

To explore the trajectory of health behavior changes in stroke patients and to analyze the influencing factors based on the capacity,opportunity,motivation-behavior(COM-B) model.

    Methods

A total of 186 stroke patients admitted to the department of neurology at a tertiary grade A hospital in Zhengzhou city were selected as the study subjects from January to October 2023.Data were collected using a general information questionnaire, the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile Ⅱ(HPLP Ⅱ),the Stroke Prevention Knowledge Questionnaire(SPKQ),the Stroke Health Belief Model Scale Short Form(SF-HBMS),and an environmental domain subscale.Latent growth mixture modeling(LGMM) was used to identify and analyze the health behavior change trajectories in patients, and Logistic regression analysis was employed to explore the influencing factors of different developmental trajectories.

    Results

Four subgroups of health behavior change trajectories were identified in stroke patients, namely unstable health behavior group(14.5%),fluctuating health behavior group(12.9%),stable health behavior group(40.9%),and continuously improving health behavior group(31.7%).Multivariate analysis results showed that Charlson Comorbidity Index(CCI),smoking history, health knowledge, health beliefs, and environmental satisfaction were influencing factors of the health behavior change trajectories in stroke patients(P<0.05).

    Conclusions

Individual differences exist in the developmental trajectories of health behaviors among stroke patients. Healthcare professionals could distinguish different populations based on influencing factors and implement precise, stratified interventions to promote the adoption of health behaviors.

    Objective

To explore the categories of nutritional literacy in peritoneal dialysis patients,to analyze their influencing factors, and to compare the differences in dietary adherence behaviors among patients with different categories.

    Methods

A total of 350 peritoneal dialysis patients from the nephrology department of Eastern Theater General Hospital in Nanjing City were selected as the study subjects by convenience sampling method from January to December,2024.Surveys were conducted using a general information questionnaire,Nutrition Literacy Assessment Instrument for Peritoneal Dialysis(NLit-PD),and Renal Adherence Behaviour Questionnaire(RABQ).Latent profile analysis was performed using Mplus 8.3.The RABQ scores among peritoneal dialysis patients with different categories of nutritional literacy were compared.

    Results

The nutritional literacy levels of peritoneal dialysis patients could be classified into three categories, namely low nutritional literacy(61.14%),moderate nutritional literacy with low belief(15.43%),and high nutritional literacy(23.43%).Logistic regression analysis showed that education level, place of residence, dialysis duration, whether they had received dietary training or not,and the frequency of weekly dietary check-ins were influencing factors of nutritional literacy in peritoneal dialysis patients(P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in terms of the total RABQ score and scores across all its dimensions among peritoneal dialysis patients with different categories of nutritional literacy(all P<0.05).

    Conclusions

The nutritional literacy of peritoneal dialysis patients can be categorized into three categories, with different influencing factors and variations in dietary adherence behaviors among the categories.Clinical nursing staff could implement personalized interventions based on the characteristics of each category to improve patients' nutritional literacy and enhance their dietary adherence behaviors.
