To identify the latent profiles of professional socialization in nursing interns, and to reveal their heterogeneous characteristics and the influencing factors.
A convenience sampling method was adopted,a total of 386 nursing interns from five tertiary hospitals in China were selected as research subjects from August to October 2025.Data were collected using a general information questionnaire,the Perceived Academic Support Scale for Nursing Interns,the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale,and the Professional Socialization Scale for Nursing Students.A latent profile model was constructed using Mplus 8.3 software.
Group heterogeneity was observed in the level of professional socialization in nursing interns,and three latent profiles were identified,namely role-drifting type,identity-constructing type,and belonging-integrating type.Age,satisfaction with the nursing major,perceived academic support,and career adaptability were significant influencing factors of the latent profiles(all P<0.05).
Nursing educators should pay attention to the group heterogeneity of professional socialization in nursing interns.They should also identify and focus on those in the role-drifting type,and implement differentiated interventions to guide them toward the identity-constructing type,ultimately facilitating a deeper transformation toward the belonging-integrating type and achieving full role internalization.
