    The formation of scientific literacy is a long-term process. Science education at early stage serves as a decisive factor affecting the formation of scientific literacy of a person. And the experimental teaching in science classes is more conducive to the formation of primary school students' minds in understanding the scientific methods and shaping scientific views of nature, and will enrich their childhood life, develop their personality, and stimulate their creative potential of great significance. Therefore, science class, which help primary school children build up their scientific literacy, should follow the laws of science to place experimental teaching in the correct position and it can not be its final goal to simply teach pupils knowledge with science class.

    It is a trend to make use of public space to put up exhibits and educate visitors in the Sci-Tech museum circle. This article discusses the definition and function of the public space in such places and summarizes ways in working out exhibition plot and content suitable for the space by making references to domestic and overseas examples. The public space is the space where communication happen between people and environment as well as among individuals. The plot determines the meaning of the communication. Working out the plot is the main task of science & technology museum for its use of the public space. It contains five elements, which are the meaningful subject, the telling way of the subject, the exhibits which could express the subject, the scene serving as a foil, and the changing sequence of the plot. The article also summarizes the basic thoughts and design principles of public space.

    With the development of science and technology, more advanced science education is required. It becomes the most important issue to promote scientific literacy of the public, especially the minor children. As places for science popularization, science & technology museums should develop educational activities for minor children. The authors have summarized experience of education activities of science & technology museums in developed countries and put forward some suggests for developing activities typical of interest, interaction and novety while taking into consideration of the age, curriculum and life experience of the minor visitors. Furthermore, some forms are showed in the article, for example, activities based on inquiry and experiencing, exhibits of longer time involvement, science shows, and so on.

    In combination with regional characteristics and by taking advantages of local science resources, Xinjiang Normal University has been carrying science popularization to teenagers for long. Xinjiang Children & Youth Science Center in Xinjiang Normal University was given the title in 2002 and evaluated to rank at the top among eleven such centers in Xinjiang in 2004. This paper explicates the experience and thoughts on institutional construction, resource integration, targets and contents of science education and practical approaches from Xinjiang Normal University. The aim is to provide some references of such work for other minority regions.
