Meanwhile, the legal system building for science popularization in local area has promoted extensively. Since the issue and enforcement of Science and Technology Popularization Law in 2002, the construction of legal system for science popularization in China has undergone a fully development. The legal system for branch science popularization has gradually systematized. The science popularization legal system in local area developed deeply in all directions and multilevel. The prolongation of the legal system for science popularization in critical areas and new fields is in the ascendant.
New evidences against a popular believed idea that there is an indirection relationship between scientific literacy and economic growth support that scientific literacy performance as the proxy for the human capital has a significant growth effect. Conditional on initial incomes, regional growth over the last four decades is completely described by difference in scientific literacy, and one standard deviation difference on test performance is related to 1% difference in annual growth rates of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.
According to previous research findings, the functions and characteristics of science popularization industry are further studied. In the system of social structure, science popularization industry performs some functions which determine its unique attributes and characteristics. Generally speaking, science popularization industry possesses three functions (social function, economic function and political function), and which correspondingly display two characteristics of society and industry. The characteristic of society reflects the social and political benefits, but the characteristic of industry reflects the economic benefits.
Based on the sampling data of those exemplary counties (cities/districts) analysis in 2011-2015, the paper starts from setting up a speculative evaluation framework. By using factor analysis and cluster analysis, this essay explores further on the general capability of those counties scattered across the country. The exploration yields as a result a possible practical evaluation framework for the assessment of those exemplary counties (cities/districts) and thereupon gives rise to a scaling assortment of their constructing condition. The conclusion may contribute to the assessment and classification of the National Science Popularization Exemplary Counties (Cities/Districts), which offers a quantifiable way for the management of the runners.
With the context that young people are gradually unwilling to study science, Pr. Kitahara Kazuo conducted more than 150 scientists, science communicators, educators and industry people in 2005 to clarify the basic knowledge, skill and concepts of science and technology. Afterwards, they made a report named Scientific Literacy for All Japanese. Their report laid not only the basic framework for quality assurance of secondary and high education, but also the guide line for the public science education including science museums and science exhibitions.
Animation as a comprehensive art form which integrate literature, art, film and television, science and technology, and many other fields as a whole, has spread into the science communication field for its unique charm. Thanks to its characteristics such as vivid description, animation has made it easier for the public to understand science knowledge, which has improved the effect of science and technology popularization. This article starts from the connotation of science and technology popularization, by analyzing the form of expression and unique predominance of animation in the process of science knowledge.
The Max Planck Society (MPS) and The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) are the top national academies in Germany and France, they are now playing a very important role in the knowledge innovation and communication. This paper introduces the general situation and communication resources of MPS and CNRS, it provides some suggestions in order to promote science and culture communication in China.
Chinese Research Institute for Science Popularization had made a survey on the current situation of scientists understanding science popularization in Beijing. The future scientists -graduate students and scientists were involved in the survey. The results showed that most of the scientists and future scientists understood science rationally. And they had a higher degree of attention on science popularization and an ability to judge the role of science popularization. They also concerned their own abilities of science popularization and social influence on science popularization. More than half of the respondents said that their reason for participation in science popularization was “appointed by the unit and individual voluntary”. The result also reflected some problems and differences between scientists and future scientists in the understanding of science popularization. The promotion mechanisms of scientist involved in science popularization were mentioned.
Industrial Park for Science Popularization (IPSP) is an important platform for research, development, production, exhibition, trade, distribution and services of science popularization resources, which also is one of the major projects in construction of Resources Distribution Center for Science Popularization (RDCSP). Based on symbiotic theory and theories of industrial clustering, this paper presents a strategy to promote development of IPSP with accurate positioning and combination of external environment and internal resources in Wuhu, Anhui.
Public interest plays an important role in their visiting science museums. This article proposes that science museums could use many methods to stimulate public interest more efficiently, in terms of the content and form of the exhibitions. These methods include using peculiar forms, adding interactive exhibition items, utilizing similar background knowledge of audiences and combining humanistic ideas.
Currently there exists a common problem of permanent exhibitions in science centers in China, which is most exhibition are quite the same, lack of innovation. This problem seriously affected the level of exhibition improvement and educational function in science centers in China. Three actions need to been taken to change this current situation. The first one is to break the old design style of exhibit oriented. The second one is to understand the exhibition theme correctly, then extract and show it exactly. The third one is to follow design process systematically and focus on the basic research, overall planning and quality of design content.
