ArchiveThe paper analyzed the important role of the science communication and popularization of the science and technology projects in China, investigated the needs for science popularization among the scientists, and reviewed similar practices in four developed countries as USA, Japan, UK and Germany. At last, the paper discussed the popularizing pattern of science and technology projects and suggested the correlative approaches.
From the psychological perspective, we classified the factors which affect the results of science popularization greatly. After reviewing the concept and analyzing the goals of science popularization, by combining with the special features of crisis, we gave a comprehensive presentation of the mental characteristics of communicating interlocutors and the physical characteristics of information content that could impose on the results of science popularization in crisis.
Popularization of Medicine is a very important part of the popularization of science. In some special area, popularization of ethnomedicine is an important part of popularization of medicine. Based on investigation of the popular medical posters in some hospitals in Inner Mongolia, analysis and discussion were given to the current situation and problems about the popularization of Mongolian medicine indicated by this investigation.
Civil scientific literacy is a significant index to reflect nation's power. The Ministry of Science and Technology led a benchmark test of the scientific literacy of citizen in Yangtze River Delta in November and December of 2009. This paper first introduces the status of the benchmark test, then based on the data treatment focused on Jiangsu province, analyzes the current situation and characteristic of the local citizens' ability to live a scientific life, and lastly gives some corresponding proposal to improve local people's ability to live scientifically.
Gender difference is a very important issue in the study of scientific literacy. According to the analysis of investigation on scientific literacy of university students in Inner Mongolian area, the study indicates that there are still differences between male and female students on scientific literacy under the similar situation of education. At the same time, this research suggests that different understandings and conclusions of gender difference may be gained when introduce the gender perspective in questionnaire design and evaluation criteria of investigation on scientific literacy.

Supported by the typical example of Miracles Around Us, a series of popular science TV programs for science education, this article is intended for an analysis and study of the thinking pattern and narrative structure in the creation of the programs of the kind. From the perspective of the combination of theory and practice, it has dealt with the argument that such creation should adhere to an integral thinking pattern, to be more exact, it should be conducted with the perceptual and rational thinking, with the image and abstract thinking and with the scientific and artistic thinking. Apart from the above-stated treatment, this article also puts under discussion the suitable narrative structure to such creation by means of language, diagrams, image, story, and the presentation of entertaining and poetic pictures. All in all, they are used to make contributions to both the improvement of the expressive effect of fluency and the improvement of production quality.
As leaders of China, cadres and civil servants' scientific literacy influences the implementation of scientific thought of development and construction of harmonious society. In implementing the Outline of the National Scheme for Scientific Literacy, municipal government of Suzhou establishes perfect training system through setting up “menu” study model, bringing culture features into play and integrating training methods. By this way, it forms a “Suzhou Model” during the process of promoting the scientific literacy of cadres and civil servants.
On May 12, 2008, a major earthquake occurred in Wenchuan in the Sichuan Province of China. A large number of high school students died or got injured in the disarster. This proves that earthquake science popularization education of young people is not enough in China, and carrying on earthquake science popularization education to young people is very important and urgent. In this paper, experience of earthquake science popularization education of young people is introduced, and the emphasis is to introduce how to prepare an interesting and befitting earthquake science popularization lecture for young people. And then, education mode of scientific research being combined with scientific popularization is put forward.
This paper investigated and systematically examined the development of science and technology museums that have been built in the mainland of China since the 1980s. Based on the result of the latest survey, the author analyses the number, regional distribution, construction standard, function, running effects and existing problems of the discussed museums. He draws out some proposals for the further development of science and technology museums, points out that the development of science and technology museums in China should be directed by sticking to the principles of “renovating the old together with building the new, quantity and quality be well balanced, both talents training and idea innovating be equally emphasized”. He suggests that the government should improve the construction of science and technology museums according to the regional economical and financial situation and the practical demand in order to provide the solid foundation and platform for carrying out and accomplishing the Outline of the National Scheme for Scientific Literacy (2006-2010-2020).
In order to implement the Outline of National Scheme for Scientific Literacy, more and more governments in minority regions plan to build science and technology museums for their local people. Considering the peculiar natural and human environments of the minority regions, we should introduce anthropological theories in analyzing the development of science and technology in those regions with focus on local features so as to make these museums achieve sustainable development.
Huxley is a prominent figure in the development process of the science popularization. He delivered a large number of lectures on science popularization, and also wrote many essays and books for the same end. He made the public understand and love science, and promoted the development of science popularization.
