"Scientific writing" emerged alongside scientific research, initially serving the communication needs of the scientific community. However, as science and technology increasingly influenced daily life and societal production, public demand for scientific knowledge and information grew, giving rise to popular science writing and science communication for a general audience. With evolving times and changes in the mass communication landscape, traditional popular science writing must transition into a more contemporary form: "creative science writing." The development of creative science writing as an academic discipline abroad has involved a gradual formation and evolution of its core concepts. Universities in Australia, the United States, and other regions have adopted diverse curricula and training models, each with distinct characteristics. This study of overseas approaches shows that their experiences in conceptual definition, training models, and interdisciplinary integration offer valuable insights for China. These insights can help advance the establishment and development of creative science writing as a discipline in China, thereby enhancing the country's soft power in science and technology.
