Scientist documentaries present the life stories of scientists,depicting a historical panorama in which the community of Chinese scientists interacts with the grand trajectory of China’s technological development. As archival evidence for research into scientists and their ideas,these documentaries contribute to the formation of a historical visual record of scientists,thereby broadening both the utilization and research paradigms of scientist-related visual materials. Focusing on a century of technological progress in China,Century Masters:Science and Technology Edition narrates the stories of eight scientists,establishing a representative narrative mechanism for Chinese scientists and offering a systematic expression of the scientist spirit.
