Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a head and neck malignant tumor with relatively high incidence rate, and radiotherapy is its main treatment method. However, the effect of radiotherapy is affected by many factors, so increasing the radio-sensitivity is an important goal of clinical treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine compound and traditional Chinese medicine monomer can effectively play the role of reducing toxicity and increasing efficiency through multi-target and multi-channel role mechanism and have potential value on radio-sensitivity of NPC. This paper aims to review the research progress on application of traditional Chinese medicine compound and traditional Chinese medicine monomer in the intervention of NPC radio-sensitivity in recent years, summarize the role mechanism and clinical results of traditional Chinese medicine compound and traditional Chinese medicine monomer for NPC radio-sensitivity and explore the limitations of existing research and future development direction, in order to provide reference for clinical practice and in-depth research of NPC radio-sensitivity.
