Objective:

To analyze the clinical efficacy of modified Danggui Buxue Decoction on patients with qi and blood deficiency syndrome after postoperative chemotherapy for breast cancer.

Methods:

A total of 98 breast cancer patients with qi and blood deficiency syndrome who underwent postoperative chemotherapy and were admitted to our hospital from February 2023 to January 2025 were randomly divided into two groups by random number table method. The control group was given conventional treatment, while the observation group was additionally treated with modified Danggui Buxue Decoction. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.

Result:

The disease control rate (DCR) of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ and the quality of life score in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the level of CD8+ and the scores of each item of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). Comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between groups (P>0.05). The patients were followed up for 6 months. The recurrence rate of the observation group was 4.08% (2/49), which was lower than that of the control group at 16.33% (8/49) (χ2 value 4.009, P value=0.045).

Conclusion:

The modified Danggui Buxue Decoction has a significant therapeutic effect on patients undergoing chemotherapy after breast cancer surgery. It can reduce the TCM syndrome score, improve immune function, enhance the quality of life of patients, and has a relatively low recurrence rate.
