To explore the mechanism of promoting awakening effect and prognosis of coma patients with severe craniocerebral injury based on meridian flow theory combined with acupuncture.
A total of 102 coma patients with severe craniocerebral injury admitted to Xinxiang Central Hospital from October 2021 to October 2024 were divided into observation group and control group. The control group was given routine intervention. On the basis of the control group, the observation group was given meridian flow theory combined with acupuncture treatment. The waking time, waking rate, GCS and FOUR scores and prognosis were compared between the two groups. The levels of neuron-specific enolase (NSE), S100B protein (S-100B) and myelin basic protein (MBP) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. The improvement of cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cerebral blood volume (CBV) before and after treatment was compared between the two groups.
The awakening rate of observation group was 82.35% higher than that of control group 64.71%, and the awakening time was significantly lower than that of control group (P <0.05). After 10 and 30 days of treatment, GCS and FOUR scores of both groups significantly increased, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group (P <0.05) ; After treatment, NSE, S-100B and MBP significantly decreased in both groups, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, CBF and CBV significantly increased in both groups, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group (P <0.05). Compared with 68.63% of the control group, the total effective rate of the observation group was 86.27% (P < 0.05).
Acupuncture combined with meridian injection theory can significantly improve the awakening rate of coma patients with severe craniocerebral injury, improve nerve function and cerebral blood flow indexes, and the prognostic effect is better than conventional treatment.
