To observe the effect of Jianpi Anshen Decoction combined with warm acupuncture at Periumbilical Four-Sided Points on the treatment of patients with chronic insomnia heart-spleen deficiency syndrome.
A total of 92 patients with chronic insomnia heart-spleen deficiency syndrome treated in Ma'anshan Shiqiye Hospital from January 2020 to September 2024 were selected and divided into experimental group (n=46) and control group (n = 46) by random number table method. The control group was treated with warm acupuncture at Periumbilical Four-Sided Points, the experimental group received Jianpi Anshen decoction on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 3 months. The TCM symptom score, sleep structure, insomnia degree, sleep quality, clinical efficacy, neurotransmitter and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.
After treatment, the scores of TCM syndrome, wake after sleep on set (WASO), sleep latency (SOL), insomnia Severity Index Scale (ISI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were all decreased in two groups, and the experimental group was lower (P < 0.05). After treatment, total sleep time (TST) and sleep efficiency (SE) were increased in both groups, and higher in the experimental group (P < 0.05). The experimental group with total effective rate (93.65%) was higher than the control group (82.61%) (P <0.05). After treatment, serum 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and glycated serum albumin (GA) levels were increased in both groups, and higher in experimental group (P < 0.05). After treatment, serum dopamine (DA) level was decreased in both groups, and lower in experimental group (P < 0.05). During the treatment period, there were no obvious adverse reactions in both groups. Within 3 months of treatment, there was no significant difference in recurrence rate between the two groups (P > 0.05).
Jianpi Anshen Decoction combined with warm acupuncture at Periumbilical Four-Sided Points in the treatment of chronic insomnia patients with heart-spleen deficiency syndrome is effective, can improve the sleep structure and sleep quality of patients, reduce insomnia symptoms, regulate neurotransmitters, good safety, and good short-term prognosis.
