Objective:

To analyze the therapeutic effect of Xuefu Zhuyu decoction combined with video-assisted thoracoscopic minimally invasive surgery in patients with traumatic hemopneumothorax (TH) of qi stagnation and blood stasis type.

Methods:

A total of 97 patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis type TH admitted to Haian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2021 to September 2024 were selected and randomly divided into two groups. Both groups were given thoracoscopic minimally invasive surgery. 48 cases in the control group received conventional treatment after the operation, and 49 cases in the observation group were treated with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction in addition after the operation. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.

Result:

The effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0. 05). After 7 days of treatment, the TCM syndrome score, pulmonary function indicators and coagulation indicators of the observation group were better than those of the control group (P < 0. 05). After 7 days of treatment, the observation group had significantly lower VAS scores than the control group (P <0.05). The time of the first expectoration in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the sputum output was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). Comparison of the incidence of complications between the two groups (P > 0.05).

Conclusion:

The treatment of TH patients with Xuefu Zhuyu decoction combined with thoracoscopic minimally invasive surgery has a significant effect. It can reduce the TCM syndrome score, alleviate the degree of pain, shorten the expectoration time, and improve coagulation indicators and lung function indicators.
