Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by complex and diverse pathogenesis, involving abnormal activation of multiple signaling pathways. In recent years, with the in-depth study of the pathogenesis of epilepsy, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has shown unique advantages as a traditional treatment method in the treatment of epilepsy. Especially, TCM has exerted significant anti-epileptic effects by regulating the Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) nuclear factor NF-κB signaling pathway. This article aims to review the latest research progress of TCM in regulating the TLR4/NF-κB pathway, focusing on analyzing the mechanisms of active components and compound prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine via the TLR4/NF-κB pathway, in order to provide reference and inspiration for future research.
