Rich in flavonoids, fatty acids, polysaccharides, and other physiologically active components, sea buckthorn is a type of plant that has medicinal and culinary similarities. It also has significant antioxidant, hypoglycemic, and hypolipidemic properties, as well as the ability to inhibit tumor growth and lessen cardiovascular disease. The identification, processing, and functional characteristics of sea buckthorn have been the focus of both domestic and international research. Nevertheless, there is an absence of systematic searching and a scattering of research on the pharmacological benefits of sea buckthorn in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular illnesses. Based on electronic databases including PubMed, CNKI, and Wanfang Data, we provide an overview of the pharmacological effects of sea buckthorn in cardiovascular disorders in this work.
