Using various separation and purification techniques including silica gel and recrystallization, two new cyclic dipeptides involving non-proteinogenic amino acids were first isolated and purified from the ethyl acetate fraction of the ethanol (95%) extract of Angelica dahurica. Through the modern spectroscopic methods such as NMR, HR-ESI-MS, IR, OR, UV, and CD, their structures were identified as angelidaphine A (1) and angelidaphine B (2).
