The hot rolled drilling pipe STM-R780 is normalized. Experiments are carried out with different normalizing temperatures and holding times. Technical parameters such as yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and metallographic structure of steel pipe are measured by relevant experimental equipment. The proper normalizing heat treatment system for strength and toughness is found out by analyzing the data.
