In order to fully exploit the lightweight potential of micro-foaming process in parts of passengercar, the principle, application and prospect of micro-foaming process are analyzed. At present, some interior and exterior parts of passenger cars can be molded by this process, such as instrument panel skeleton, door guard plates, engine decorative covers, etc., which can realize 5%~20% weight reduction of passenger cars and perform good dimensional stability with no need to modify the mold repeatedly.
