The Chinese Progress was a significant publication during the period of the Reform Movement of 1898, which was vital to the reform started by Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao. It had the largest circulation and the hugest impact at the end of Qing dynasty. The Chinese Progress comprises not only Liang's articles, which was named “Liang's themes”, but plenty of translations. The translations split even with the political themes. Moreover, they included a large number of scientific and technological contents, which set the Chinese Progress in a position on propagating science and technology at the end of Qing dynasty, and helped Chinese people broaden their horizon. The Chinese Progress followed closely the progressive trend of science and technology of the time, demonstrated the influence of science and technology on all sides, such as society, medical treatment, agriculture, and so on, which facilitated the advancement of society. the Chinese Progress contributed a lot to “towards oriental spreading” of new science and technology. And now there are already many researches on the Chinese Progress, but most of them focus upon history, news communication and other liberal arts, and fewer upon science and technology. This paper attempts to begin from a cross-discipline perspective of liberal art and science to make an all-round and systematic research on the scientific translation of the Chinese Progress.
The rapid development of museums has greatly enriched the tourist resources; and the thriving demand for cultural tourism, on the other hand, has provided new opportunities and space for the development of museums. Based on the review of the functional evolution of museums, this paper, taking a tourist approach, explores the impacts of tourism on the functions of museums, advocates the idea that the core function for a museum is to educate, and taking the needs of tourists into consideration, expounds the leisure and learning orientation of the functions of museums.

From the view of the “last mile”—— which means to change the traditional view of up-side-down to the view of bottom-up, this paper discusses the content construction of science popularization work in community of Beijing. First, the paper characterizes about several aspects of content construction of science popularization work in community which include basic content structure, content change rate, content resource and people working for content in the community. Second, the paper analyses the problems existing in the content construction of science popularization work in community, which shows the neglect, misunderstanding, shortage of information, internet effect, and staying away from the daily life of citizens are the main reasons. Third, the paper gives some concrete suggestions for the future content construction of science popularization work in community, such as the orientation of content construction in science popularization work, providing easy access to information as subscribing newspapers for every community, providing varied channels and methods, reusing and exploiting the content by taking advantage of recorder, video and internet, setting up mechanism of content sharing and communication between different communities, paying more attention to the needs and expectations of the citizens and inviting them in the evaluation of the content construction of science popularization work in community.

Nevertheless, we can read lots of contents about sciences in their blogs, which serve to take popular science to the public to a certain extent. What kind of scientific information have those blogs conveyed to the public? And what is the role of their blogs in sciences communication? This paper attempts to answer these questions by analyzing the contents of their blogs and studying the typical cases. Scientific researchers' blogs in ScienceNet.cn are taken for examples in the paper.
This paper mainly studies the biographies of influential scientists in the current domestic market. By filtering out the scientist biographies, the authors selected 50 most influential biographies, made preliminary comprehensive analysis and studies on current Chinese readers' preference to biographies of scientists, and are trying to look into the source of the influences.
